Publication/Leadership for STEM Writers!
📝 ✨Interested in becoming a published author? Passionate about STEM Writing? Need something to do this summer?📝 ✨ Have you ever stumbled through a peer-reviewed article, unfamiliar with every other word, and wondering if STEM was really for you? I’ve been there, and countless other students are in the same boat. Accessible Science aims to make that experience less daunting and provide a welcoming introduction for younger students into the STEM field. Our goal is to make the latest medical discoveries and science news accessible to middle and high school students by presenting complex topics in a clear and engaging way. To ensure accessibility, we write all our articles in simple, student-friendly language, aiming to spark curiosity and inspire a love for science. We are: → National, student-led organization that writes STEM-centered articles → A crossroad between STEM and the humanities → Welcoming to all locations, experiences, and interests → Based in NY, 10+ chapters across the US You will get: → Published in a book as an author → Published as a writer on our website's blog → Liberty to write about any STEM topic you're passionate about → Several open officer positions Because we are welcoming a new wave of writers for the summer term, we are expanding our executive team to be able to accommodate the increased membership. Some open officer positions are: Social Media Manager: Will be tasked with managing Accessible Science social media, recruiting new chapters and members with promotional material. Possible posts include recruiting chapters, article highlights, and scientific information. Previous experience is highly preferred. Article Editors: Will be tasked with editing articles from writer submissions.
