Hi all! I’m Archie, a year 10 (9th grade) student living and studying at an independent school in the UK for both GCSES and IGCSES. I want to study Economics/Sustainable Finance at UPenn Wharton. The amount of extracurriculars I have are very low, especially linking to what I want to study. I aim to take the SAT later this year and/or next year following my GCSES. This summer I hope to self-teach economics to myself in preparation for the Great British Economic Olympiad, and hopefully if I place well for the International Economic Olympiad. In 3 weeks I am going start to writing a submission to FCDO, Young Economist of the Year (UK), and the John Locke Essay competitions. Additionally I’m hoping to look into research on sustainable finance/economics, most likely sourced through cold-emailing professors at universities near me. As I’m starting later than most, my success in the future really is determined by this summer and how hard I work during it, and hopefully next summer I can apply to the Wharton global youth program, as they have a good related course that covered sustainability within finance. Any tips on how to make sure I achieve this would be deeply appreciated!
