I recently read a beautiful poem. it brought tears to my eyes. Because it reminded me that we are the love of our life. It asks the following questjon - What if we are the best friend we're looking for - the answer to our prayers ? In society , we are trained to look outwards. We are willing to go to extensive lengths to keep those around us satisfied. And we forget to realise that ultimately we keep coming back to ourselves. There's no escaping the person we are. We will not be able to escape the reflection that looks back at us in the mirror. And we've got two options - we can keep trying to fix the reflection (spoiler alert - this doesn't really work) or We can learn to fall in love with it. We can seek to understand the person who looks back at us in the mirror. We can gaze into our own eyes and recognize the soul that shines through them . We can acknowledge the divine intelligence that flows through the cells of the body and we can bow to it. We can become the student of our own Sacred Soul. We can choose to hold hands with and choose to walk with it as our companion in our life. It will never abandon us. It will be our guide , our ally and protector. When we stop trying to wrestle with the truth of the soul, we start to finally trace the pathways uniquely designed for us. The map of the soul begins to become clearer to us and we start to walk the path with joy. With a spring in our step and a smile on our face 😀 And maybe it's the grandest journey one can ever embark on. Its the journey that echoes the story of the reclamation of True Self. 🌞 ☀️ 💎 Here's the poem I mentioned Love after love By Derek Walcott The time will come when , with elation You will greet yourself arriving At your own door , in your own mirror . And each will smile at the other's welcome and say Sit here , eat. You will love again the stranger who was yourself. Give wine , give Bread Give back your heart. To itself To the stranger who has loved you all your life Whom you ignored , for another , who knows you by heart
