Would it be helpful if we created study guides for both exams here? These study guides would be a collection of official and community-created resources and would also highlight which of our courses are relevant for each exam. I have seen many people mention that they are planning to take these exams.
Iāve made these Notion sites for getting ready to take the DP-600 (https://youcanbeapirate.notion.site/DP-600-b55f053c329c438bb3b804c3d2a00bc9?source=copy_link) exam back in 2024 and DP-700 (https://youcanbeapirate.notion.site/DP-700-1a8f7fb9b6de801e92d5f903b314f782?source=copy_link), which Iām yet to take. If they are of any use (as is or as a source for something here), Iām happy. I actually have my DP-700 exam next week, so wish me luck!
@Aleksi Partanen, thank you! Your YouTube content and the CertiAce have really helped me getting ready (in addition to Microsoft Learn content, which is also pretty good, to be honest). For anyone interested in how I got through DP-600 (and how Iām now approaching the DP-700) is very simple. 1) I first went through all the Microsoft Learn modules (including the hands-on Labs) mentioned in the study guide for the exam(s) 2) I then started to go through the video series by Aleksi to get the concepts from another point of view. I didnāt do it for the DP-600, but since I donāt consider myself a data engineer (I come from the analytics & BI side of things), there are more concepts to learn and I feel like this has been a good way to bridge that gap. 3) Then, practice, practice, practice. The practice exam on Microsoft Learn is always a good place to start. For DP-600 I also built my own custom GPT (remember when they were the new cool thing) to ask me similar questions based on the Microsoft Learn content. For DP-700 I actually turned to Aleksiās CertiAce. This is not a paid promotion, but as Iāve now spent a couple of days using it, I really like the way it works. The two case studies are especially useful, because those are harder to come by for free or create with AI. I still have the full practice exam to do, but Iāll save it for Monday. Iām trying to recreate (or is it precreate?) the exam situation as much as possible. Same time of day, locked up in a room by myself, etc. I would say that besides whatās in those Notion pages, this is how Iāve done it and try to do it now. Iām fully aware that people learn in different ways, but if this inspires you in any way, Iām happy. Also, Iām taking the exam knowing full well that I might not pass it on the first go. I know many smart people with more hands-on Fabric knowledge that have had to take it twice. And I think itās good to not beat yourself up too much if you fail the exam. Weāre here to learn, ultimately, and thereās no better way to learn what it takes to get through the exam than actually taking it. One of those growth mindset things, if youāre into it.
