Yes Sir! The tech genie is already out of the bottle, and its not gong back anytime soon. At this point, I think the real issue is learning "self control". Cellphones are everywhere we look, the phone I am typing this on, home, work, church, andy they are everywhere else, so its not realistic to pretend they don't exist. I have to be intentional about staying off my phone during instructional time, but honestly, I have seen coworkers struggle with "self control" alongside the students when it comes to following the expectations. Setting the example for our students and coworkers is not easy, but it can be done. Now as for enforcing the rule, I have a unpopular opinion about it because I would treat them just like vape pens. If its not allowed, then its not allowed. Simple. And when it comes to the consequences, something like a clear, step by step system should be put in place or three strikes you are out with each violation the punishment increases. We must remember they are students who can learn. And its my lens that they can learn this too. One more thing... We have 7 more Fridays to go Big Brother!
