Some of us saw the writing on the wall. Others were completely blindsided. Twelve years is a long time. I've spent more waking hours with some of these people than I have with my own family. We've survived staffing shortages, instrument breakdowns, impossible workloads, ridiculous situations that should have been documentaries, and enough urine samples to fill a small lake. So yes... it's bittersweet. But here's the thing... I've always believed that sometimes life shoves you in a direction that you probably should have gone anyway. And honestly? I'm excited.
