Part 2: Now Make It Work While You Sleep
In Part 1, you asked ChatGPT Work one question: what did you find? Today you ask a different one: can you check this for me every morning and tell me what needs my attention? That is not a bigger prompt. It is a bigger shift. You are moving from a one-time task to a standing assignment. From something you run to something that runs for you. Stay in the Same Thread Do not start over. Go back to the Work thread from Part 1. ChatGPT already has the context. It knows the roles you are targeting, the criteria you gave it, and what the first review turned up. Starting a new thread means re-explaining all of that. Staying in the same one means it just picks up where it left off. Now hand it the recurring version of the same assignment. -------------------------------- The Prompt Use this as your starting point: "Schedule this job search review to run every Monday through Friday at 7:00 AM. Each morning, review new job-search-related emails, recruiter messages, saved job postings, and relevant connected files you are allowed to access. Use the resume, career summary, or criteria I already provided as the comparison point. Do not apply, submit, message anyone, upload documents, send anything, delete anything, move anything, update anything, schedule anything else, or modify any file without my explicit approval. Each morning, give me a short job search review that includes: - New opportunities found - Roles worth reviewing first - Strong matches - Possible concerns or gaps - Repeated keywords or skills - Recommended next steps - A 'Needs Human Review' section for anything uncertain Keep the review concise and practical." ----------------------------------- That is the whole assignment. Do not overcomplicate it. What a Good Recurring Review Actually Does It finds new job-search information, not the same list recycled from yesterday. It separates the strong opportunities from the weak ones instead of dumping everything in one pile. It compares each role against your criteria, not just against a keyword match.

Part 2: Now Make It Work While You Sleep
Part 1: Stop Asking ChatGPT Questions. Start Giving It Assignments
Stop Chatting With AI. Start Assigning It Work. Most people never leave Chat mode. They ask a question. They get an answer. They move on. That is fine for trivia. It is a waste of ChatGPT Work. Two Different Tools Wearing the Same Name Chat is built around one question: what can I answer for you today? Work is built around a different one: what can I take off your plate? That is not a small difference. In Chat, you are a person asking for information. In Work, you are a manager handing off an assignment. You define the outcome. You give context. You let it touch your connected apps if you allow it. Then you review before anything happens. Most people skip that last part. Don't. OpenAI positions Work as the place for longer, multi-step tasks and finished deliverables, and connected apps can plug ChatGPT into your other tools, files, and actions depending on your plan and permissions. Power like that needs a leash. Set the Boundary Before You Do Anything Else The first time you use ChatGPT Work, put this line in your prompt: "Review and prepare the work, but do not apply, submit, send, message, delete, archive, move, update, schedule, cancel, publish, or modify anything without my explicit approval." That might sound like overkill. It is not. Connected apps make Work valuable because your information already lives in your email, your calendar, your files. Valuable does not mean unsupervised. The rule is simple: analyze first, recommend next, act only after approval. The Practice: A Job Search Review Here is a low-risk way to learn this. Not applying to jobs. Not messaging recruiters. Not uploading anything. Just asking ChatGPT to review what it can see, organize it, and hand you a recommendation. Depending on what you connect, it may be able to pull from: - Job alert emails - Recruiter messages - Saved job descriptions - Career notes - A resume or professional summary - Files in connected storage Your setup will look different from the next person's. That is fine. The exercise is the same.

🚀 A Few Short New Lessons Worth Checking Out
I know everyone is busy, so you may have missed a few things I recently added to the Academy. I’ve been focusing on topics that I believe every business professional should understand as AI continues to move incredibly fast: 🤖 Claude Cowork: From AI Assistant to AI Coworker Why AI is moving beyond simply answering questions and beginning to actually work alongside us. 💻 What Is Codex and Why Should You Care? A practical look at why tools like Codex matter, even if you are not a programmer. 🧠 Understanding the Different Types of LLM Models Why choosing the right model matters, and how different models can dramatically change the quality, speed, and cost of the work you do with AI. 🤖 My goal isn't to turn anyone into an AI expert overnight. It's to help you understand what is changing, why it matters, and how you can actually use it in your career and business. 💡Take a look when you have a few minutes. And please give me your feedback. What would you like me to break down next? 👇

🔥Claude Cowork: From AI Assistant to AI Coworker PATH🤖
Claude Cowork is one of the most important shifts happening in AI right now, especially for people who don't want to become programmers. The simplest way to understand it is: - Claude Chat helps you think about the work. - Claude Cowork can actually perform the work. Anthropic describes Cowork as bringing the same agentic architecture behind Claude Code to everyday knowledge work, without requiring a terminal. Instead of answering one prompt at a time, it can plan a multi-step job, break it into pieces, use tools and files, execute the work, and return a finished result. 🧠 What does that actually mean? Suppose you have a folder containing: - 20 customer invoices - several Excel files - meeting notes - customer proposals - PDFs - sales reports - With ordinary Claude Chat, you might upload documents and ask questions about them. **With Cowork, you could give it a job** 🧑‍⚖️PROMPT: Go through these files. Organize the customers. Create a spreadsheet showing revenue by customer. Identify accounts that declined. Create a management summary and put the finished files in this folder.” Cowork can plan and execute those steps rather than merely explaining how you should do them. It can directly read and write files in folders you authorize, create spreadsheets, presentations, and documents, coordinate subtasks, browse websites, and use connected applications ''' That's the fundamental change: - Prompt → Answer becomes - Goal → Plan → Actions → Finished Work ❓Why should you care? Because this is where AI starts moving from assistant toward digital worker. 🧠Imagine saying: “Every Monday, review these reports, compare them with last week, identify anything unusual, and prepare my management briefing.” Cowork supports scheduled tasks that can run remotely even when your computer isn't online. Or: “Take these meeting notes and build the presentation for Friday.” Or: “Research these competitors, organize the findings, create a comparison spreadsheet, and prepare an executive report.”

🤖 What Is Codex, and Why Should You Care?
If you have been using ChatGPT but have never touched Codex, this is for you. And don't worry. You do not need to be a programmer. I think the easiest way to understand Codex is this: ChatGPT helps you think and create. Codex can actually work on things with you. That is a big difference. With ChatGPT, you might say: “Help me figure out how to build this.” With Codex, you can move closer to: “Here is the project. Help me build it, change the files, check the work, and fix what isn't working.” That is why Codex matters. 🧠 So What Exactly Is Codex? Codex is OpenAI's AI coding and software-building agent. But don't let the word coding scare you away. You can communicate with Codex in normal English. You tell it what you are trying to accomplish, give it access to the appropriate project files, and it can work through the task. It can: 🔹 Read and understand project files 🔹 Create and edit files 🔹 Build websites and applications 🔹 Find and fix problems 🔹 Run tests 🔹 Research technical issues 🔹 Work through larger projects step by step 🔹 Use reusable instructions and Skills 🔹 Connect to other tools through things like MCP The important idea is not that Codex can write code. The important idea is that Codex can take action. ** That is the shift I want you to understand. 💡 What Problem Does Codex Solve? For years, we have used AI mostly like this: Ask → Answer → Copy → Paste → Do the work yourself Codex starts moving us toward: Describe the goal → Give context → Let the agent work → Review the result You are moving from simply talking to AI toward delegating work to AI. That is a very important skill to understand as AI continues to evolve. 🚀 10 Simple Steps to Start Using Codex 1. Get Codex running Start with OpenAI's desktop ChatGPT experience and access Codex from there. 👀 Tip: Don't worry about understanding every feature. Your first goal is simply to get comfortable opening Codex and looking around. 2. Sign in with your ChatGPT account Use the same OpenAI account you already use for ChatGPT.
