Small slips kill success, not big failures.
Big lesson today. I let myself slip—even for a moment—and dipped below my standard. And in that moment, something dangerous happened. I almost let it slide. But thankfully, I have mentors and people in my life who catch me when I fall. Still, moments like this remind me: 👉 How you do one thing is how you do everything. Every day, comfort will whisper, “Take it easy.” Excuses will sound reasonable. Obstacles will feel like valid reasons to slow down. And if you give in—even once—you’ve just taught yourself that it’s okay. And what happens when “just once” becomes twice? And then three times? Before you know it, you’ve built a habit of slipping. That’s how people lose. Not in one big moment, but in a series of small ones where they let it slide. That’s why I refuse to go below my standard. Because every time I do, I take a step backward. And I didn’t come this far just to go in circles. So ask yourself: - How do you speak to the people closest to you? - How do you treat the people you dislike? - How do you talk to yourself when no one is around? Because the standard you accept today becomes your reality tomorrow. Your future self is being built right now. Will they thank you—or resent you? Don’t let anyone—or anything—pull you below your standard. Not even yourself. Lock in. Keep moving forward.
Small slips kill success, not big failures.
How To Know If You Actually Had A Productive Day
For the longest time, I felt like I wasn’t doing enough. I’d end my day saying: ❌ Am I even making progress? ❌ I had a shitty day. ❌ I could’ve done better. And that feeling sucked. Then my mentor gave me one simple piece of advice: “Track everything and score it.” Most people go through life feeling like they’re unproductive because they don’t actually measure anything. Now, I don’t rely on feelings—I track my progress. At the end of each day, I ask myself: “Out of 5, was I effective? Productive? Aligned with my mission?” If it’s not a 5, I know what to improve tomorrow. No more second-guessing. No more overthinking. Just clarity and real progress. Because at the end of the day, as long as I moved the needle forward—even just a little—that’s all that matters.
