Neurodivergent - do you feel it is a part of the new normal ??
Today I saw a mom with her child who was overwhelmed, the classic moment when the child sits down a busy mall and is testing out his lungs !!! This mom should win the Grammy / Oscar of motherhood. Instead of reacting, instead of rushing, instead of that “stop it right now” tone we all remember… She paused.Sat down beside him.And just… stayed. Calm. Present. Patient. The melt down stopped, heads turned around , some impressive nods, some eyes wanting to learn the trick, some with judgements but they all moved along...and so did the kid and his mom. .. One choice can leave an unforgettable impression... And something about that moment really touched me. Because I grew up in a very different time… Where kids were:✔ Good or bad✔ Obedient or disobedient✔ Smart or… “try harder” 😅 And if you didn’t fit the box? It was always:“Parents need to be stricter.”“Child needs more discipline.” There was no space to wonder —What if this child just experiences the world differently? No language for it.No awareness.No pause. And today… seeing that shift? It made me feel so warm inside. 💛 That maybe more children will grow up feeling understood…not corrected. (Also yes… a tiny part of me wished we had this growing up too 😄) Now I’m curious — Which world feels closer to your experience? It’s definitely a shift. Alberta has a 7 year waiting list for adults and longer for children (if you are waiting on healthcare to cover it). You can pay$2500-3000 for private assessment within a few weeks to a month. My child got assessed through the school system, but my understanding is they have limited funds for it and allocate it sparingly.

@Jyothi D. konda awesome. Thanks I pause too, breath work, gratitude, and sometimes I need to check out to get 2-5 min total peace. I also incorporate movement if it’s a negative situation to shake it off and not affect others or the rest of my day.

Newbie in the house
Hi all — I’m Ann. I’ve spent most of my life being the “strong one.” Early responsibility, a lot of loss, a lot of holding things together. I learned to be capable fast being the only girl and the youngest of 5 kids. I also learned to be loud when I felt unsafe…and to survive in a mans world workforce. For years I mistook control, productivity, and strength for security. Motherhood started to change that for me. Not in a cute highlight-reel way — more in a “oh… this is what fear really feels like” way. When health challenges started showing up in my home, it pushed me deeper into understanding my own nervous system, my reactions, my patterns. I started noticing the small moments. How quickly my tone shifted when I felt tired, and exhausted. How fast I moved to fix instead of listen. Including speaking for people around me. How often I was bracing without realizing it. That’s really the heart of the work I do now. Calm power, Micro-momentum shifts for long term impact. I’m really glad to be here and to connect with other people who care about growth and doing this work in real life, not just in theory. I want to thank @Jyothi D. konda for inviting me here in her space to share HAPPY with you all. Joy comes from happiness Happiness breads laughter Laughter impacts the body at the chemical level, lowering blood pressure, calming the nervous system and more. So go find your happy, your joy. We don't know how much time we have in this life, so lets make it count! Excited to learn what you’re all building too. I recently did some Tony Robbins Training and my AI tools helped me create this nugget! LOL
