Weekly discussion #25 - Knowing the history
This week I’d like to discuss your thoughts on knowing the history of a location and the history of haunted accounts. If you were to go to a haunted location, would you want to know the history of the place BEFORE investigating or AFTER? Same goes for the history of the hauntings. Would you want to know any specific accounts of the paranormal activity that happens there BEFORE or AFTER you investigate? Sometimes knowing the details can help but sometimes it can cloud your judgement and make your mind play tricks on you. So what would you rather know?

@Edward Holmgren that's why I agree that knowing that history of a location is far more important than knowing the haunted accounts for that very reason. Having preconceived notions can hinder us as paranormal explorers.

As some of you may have read my replies, I'm sorry for the redundancy 🤣 with that being said, I believe it's important to know a locations history and story above all else. As it's good to know a little about the haunted accounts, it can hinder us more than we think. We go in there thinking we know exactly what's going on there, that we forget to go off our own narrative, we forget to use our own intuition and feeling, and most importantly, we fail to actually listen to what's happening right in the "now," if that makes sense?
HI!!
1. Where are you from? (Bonus: Is your area known for any hauntings or legends?) I currently live in Greendale, WI about 40 minutes away from where the Beast of Bray Road roams. There are a lot of haunted locations near me. 2. What sparked your interest in the paranormal? being clairvoyant as a child. 3. What kind of paranormal topics are you most interested in? ALL of them 4. Do you have any experience with ghost hunting, or are you just getting started? I have been on several investigations, was on 3 teams, planning on starting my own, as I have recently bought several pieces of eq. 5. What's one place you'd love to investigate and why? There are a few. Waverly Hills. Malvern Manner. Would love to go to Ashmore Estates again

Weekly discussion #24 - Your first paranormal encounter
For this week’s discussion, @Anne Godden thought it might be interesting to hear about people’s first paranormal encounters (if you’ve had one). So, comment down below with the first paranormal experience you had.

Weekly Discussion # 22 - Pareidolia
Pareidolia is the brain’s natural tendency to recognize familiar patterns—especially faces and figures—in unclear or random stimuli. In paranormal research, this often shows up in photos, videos, EVPs, shadow figures, and even SLS captures. Some investigators view pareidolia as a psychological filter that can explain away many experiences. Others believe it may be the mechanism through which subtle paranormal forms become visible to human perception. 💭 When reviewing evidence, how do you personally tell the difference between pareidolia and a genuine anomaly? Do you trust first impressions, group consensus, or personal intuition? Have you ever caught something in evidence that others dismissed as pareidolia—but felt real to you? Let’s explore where perception ends… and mystery begins. This discussion was suggested by @Klowie Fields If you would like to suggest a topic for discussion, message me.

@Edward Holmgren definitely relying on your instincts is a great rule of thumb, but we can place doubt in everything, so I think having the right balance is key.
