Day 1 you got your scrap of fabric and cut it into a square or rectangle. We are just practicing doing the hem so you don't need a lovely piece of fabric yet. A piece of light weight cotton will do. Today Must Haves: 1. Get the right needle for your fabric 2. Get the right thread for your fabric You can find out both in the Fabric Needle Thread Download in the Classroom under "Start Here" Optional Extras 1. Thread conditioner - wax/bees wax your thread so it doesn't curl as your sew (this is not essential, it can make it a little easier to sew. 2. A padded board, something to pin your fabric to as you stitch. This makes the process much faster. I use a mini ironing board.
