I wanted to sit down and write this while the week is still fresh — not once everything feels “figured out”, but right in the middle of it.
Minette and I arrived in the UK on 20 January, and what followed wasn’t a highlight reel. It was friction, admin, cold weather, stairs, delays, and a lot of moments where things didn’t go according to plan. London hit us first. Small flats. No lifts. Five flights of stairs. Suitcases up and down. Trains, buses, crowds. Everyone rushing — eyes on their phones, chasing the next commute. It was loud, fast, and oddly disconnected. It made us very aware of how easy it is to get trapped in motion without direction. We connected at a few events with potential partnerships and building our community and support. We attended the High Level event, where they are seriously considering coming to S.A! From there we headed to Doncaster, where Minette lived and worked years ago. Slower pace. Cleaner. Friendlier people. Strangers going out of their way to help us. It reminded us that environment matters more than most people realize. But one thing became very clear, very quickly: We packed for comfort — not for movement. Our luggage became an anchor. Every staircase, every train change, every check-in felt heavier than it should have. That’s when the idea of having our own wheels, our own space, our own “home” stopped being a nice-to-have and became essential. So we committed to buying the van. That decision alone opened a new chapter of challenges: - Needing a UK address just to purchase - Paying for a registered office service - Sorting insurance with South African licences - Paying a full year upfront (around £4,000) - Putting down a non-refundable deposit - UK Tax on the car and and and... And then… delays. Clutch issues. Gearbox out. Parts missing. MOT pending. All while we had no accommodation secured because we were timing everything around collecting the van. At the same time, business didn’t pause. We were running: - Daily Zoom calls - A 3-day online challenge - Paid webinars - Coaching sessions - Client work - Team management Across a 2-hour time difference, unstable Wi-Fi, and coffee shops that charged £7+ for two cappuccinos.

Glad you put pen to paper. One sometimes forget how your own life developed - while reading this, I was taken back to my very first trip overseas with only a tiny back-pack and a Studentrail train ticket. So scared! And so many obstacles - and yet I now only remember the HUGE adventure! Forgotten is the Paris taxi that took us for an hour and a half ride while clocking up the miles (and running our funds down!); forgotten the 6 stories up to our Spanish stay (yes, no lifts!); being thrown out of a cafe or living in the middle of the Red Light District; standing-sleeping an a packed train from France to Madrid (and the old guy singing Italian opera all the way! We went hungry some days, but we loved every minute and I sit here smiling ... THANKS FOR MAKING MEMORIES, EUGENE & MINETTE, AND WAKING MINE AGAIN!

How can I (Eugene) help you
If you had a magic wand and request me to help you with 1 thing what would that be? How to structure this: 1. Be specific: "Help me make money" is way to broad 2. Funnel Junkies related: Keep it to starting or scaling my online business 3. Suggestion: Ask for help and also give a suggestion on how you want it delivered. Example: I need help with my own lead magnets that will give me more leads. An option would be a life working session where we create lead magnets and you review it And go....

All my challenges have been listed above: post get likes (irratic) but no coments or reactions. I think my Lead Magnets are og high value but obviously people just don't want to engage - is it my niche (55-70 year olds wanting to start a second income stream) that is a "silent generation"? I know you say that if we do not get response, our value is just not good enough... yet, Chat and Manus helped me with creating those and I added my own research. So how do I find out what it is that people really want? HELP!!!! Six months in - tried various different paths/posts/structures/value adds. And still no success.

SOME INSPIRATION
“The greatest test of courage on earth is to bear defeat without losing heart.” —Robert Green Ingersoll One word often heard in group discussions is “will.” Yet, the will to do something cannot exist without the action required to do it, and that takes courage. It is courage that turns possibilities into realities and assures us that little in life is truly impossible. Experience teaches us that courage keeps our active emotions under control. When courage guides our efforts, we can be sure that we will not only be capable of accomplishing success, but we will be worthy of it. We learn that courage is not recklessness; it is common sense. When we know that a goal is worth going for, courage has judgment and carefulness as allies, even though we may be moving against the tide of popular opinion or belief. I am overcoming my fears about setting and working toward goals. It helps me to remember “courage is fear that has said its prayers.”
