New years resolution
Are you planning on making any as we head into 2026? Do you believe in them? Personally for me, I don't ever set a resolution for the New Year. I think the past 3 years especially, have taught me that you cannot plan to too many things, because life happens, and that is absolutely OK. I like to set myself some goals, and whilst it is nice to have an end date on them, they are flexible goals. So in 2026, for me, I want to; Become a better dog trainer and behaviour modification expert Play some golf - this is very much subject to my spinal disease Grow my SKOOL community Develop new courses and content Attend the Inside Out Synopsis in June (Tickets and hotel booked - this WILL happen) Now, with me, as always, there's a twist! What do you want to achieve with your dog next year, but you understand there is no time frame, because your dog needs you to go at their pace and advocate for them at all times! What are your 2026 plans?

I have aims, but not resolutions.
Teething....
For those of you with young puppies..... teething does get better! This little hand out is a useful reminder of what you can use to help and some handy bits of information that will help. No more bitey land sharks!

@James Hare It was truly horrible, and I can easily see why people label puppies as “aggressive”. I loved my puppy of course, but I didn’t like him at all for the first few months. I had to teach him how to interact with me and how to moderate his bite, and for a very intelligent puppy it took a surprisingly long time!

@James Hare Absolutely. I had to keep telling myself he didn’t mean to hurt me - in fact he was doing the best he could to interact with me because he wanted that connection. He just literally didn’t know how to play any other way.
Clicker Training
Want to find out more? Guess what, we have an E-Book coming for clicker training. How to start things off and the importance of keeping things slow.

@James Hare I do have thermal leggings and I got a Dryrobe-style coat for Christmas. 😂

@James Hare Except getting cold treats out of a pouch with my Raynaud’s Syndrome fingers! Half the time they feel like they belong to someone else, half the time they hurt so much I WISH they belonged to someone else. 😂
Just for fun
If your dog could play any sport, what would it be? My boy cannot decide between football and darts.....

Well River already does two sports, but I think he’d love to have a go at that thing where people chase a wheel of cheese down a hill!

@James Hare River loves cheese and chasing things and he’s fast for a tiny, so it’s perfect!
Who wants it??
OK, firstly I am not calling any of you out for a fight.... It is not that kind of who wants it! What I am asking you to do is ask yourself 1 question..... when it comes to training a behaviour.... Who wants it? So often I get a message, or a phone call from a customer who starts the conversation "I want" Now whether that is followed by recall, loose lead walking, crate training etc etc, it always starts "I want" So, flip the question on its head for me you lovely people..... "What does your DOG want"

@James Hare Oh yes! Also he’s getting rather keen on foot rubs.

I’m Anna, papillon is River. We do hoopers and agility and he’s a shouty little pest but I love him anyway. 😂
