Peri/Menopause Symptoms
I've been working with more and more women who are at this stage of life where changes are starting to happen within the body, and not enough awareness is there to explain these changes. The average age for Menopause is 51. HOWEVER, symptoms and changes can begin to happen in the 10 years beforehand. Yes, I know lucky us! It's so important, as women, that we are informed about these potential symptoms and changes so that we can be aware of ways we can try to reduce them and prevent them from having a negative impact on our lives. See the list of symptoms below, obviously, not everyone will have lots of symptoms but it's important to be aware of the symptoms you might not have connected to menopause. Would be interested to hear of anyone's personal experiences whether it be currently, or previously to help me share more resources on the subject! Feel free to DM me😊

I would like to share my feedback as I’m in the menopause . Officially have no periods . Firstly what I would like to say is that we sometimes relate our journey to that of our mothers and sister . For me this was the complete opposite . I struggled with fertility , I’m one of 6 so obviously my mum didn’t . Once I hit 48 it was like a light switch . Periods became less frequent , until they stopped completely. I think like most women we have this view on menopause lasting a year or two and that’s it’s “ I’m through the menopause “ where the reality is you will always be in the menopause albeit without perhaps hot flushes . I’ve been reading so much about it and trying to understand what my body is actually going through . It’s quite basically a hormone deficiency. Your body stops making the levels of estrogen that you have been used to for so many years . If you had any other hormone deficiency akin to this type of drop in levels you would be put on medication for the rest of your life so why do we feel like HRT is wrong and dangerous ? If you read about the studies conducted on hrt you will find them inconclusive . Going back to a single study which wasn’t properly conducted . Insufficient evidence. My journey led me to a wonder lady Dr Nilah at the Royal Bahrain Hospital in Bahrain . A lady who has served the Nhs for over 26 years and who herself has been on HRT for years … After blood test and scan to confirm that I was menopausal I was advised to start HRT .
