New Visas Options for Graduates
In late 2026, we are introducing a new visa for graduates of vocational study and will extend post study work visa eligibility for some graduate diplomas. These changes will help international graduates take the next step from study into work. ✅ A new Short‑term Graduate Work Visa will give eligible graduates up to six months of open work rights — time to look for a job, gain local experience, and explore longer‑term work options. ✅ More graduates will be eligible for a Post‑Study Work Visa of up to 12 months, with eligibility extended to students completing a Level 7 Graduate Diploma, provided they also hold a Bachelor’s degree. Find out more about these visas and start planning your study journey at: https://www.immigration.govt.nz/about-us/news-centre/new-and-updated-post-study-work-visa-options/

@Rona De Witt How hard is it to transfer from a study visa to a permanent visa? Asking for a friend! 😉

@Rona De Witt Such valuable information! And it makes so much sense to establish a solid plan before even getting started.
Country of origin
Hi Rona, I have a quick question: Does your country of origin make a difference to the pathway of moving to New Zealand? What if for example, you are from the UK, but your partner is from China for example?

@Rona De Witt Oh gosh! I don’t even want to think about the changes we are all about to face. 🫣 Have you noticed more interest in moving to NZ recently… a lot of people are talking about running away. Or do you mean changes in the immigration rules to NZ? 🤔
Easter Blessings!
Wishing all the new life builders a blessed Easter weekend. May the real reason for Easter celebrations be a blessing to you all.
