Module 19 is definitely delivering👏👏👏!
🚨 SPD911 goes LIVE today at 12pm CST — Season 2 Finale.
Today’s episode is the one everyone in SPD needs to see. We’re breaking down the problems every department feels but rarely talks about honestly: • Broken equipment leadership refuses to fix • Turnover that wipes out progress every few months • Burnout and being unheard when you speak up • Audits that feel like punishment instead of protection • Recurring workflow issues nobody wants to own And we’re not just describing the problems... ...we’re showing how to actually influence change, get leadership buy-in, and stop repeating the same battles week after week. If you’ve ever felt stuck, overlooked, or frustrated in SPD… this finale is built for you. 🔴 LIVE at 12pm CSThttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qMPrLo1dIPo

RANDOM THOUGHT
I was just thinking… One of the biggest challenges in Sterile Processing isn’t the technical side of the job. Most of you all can master the tray line, the washers, the sterilizers, and the case carts. But the real growth happens when we start asking: How do I influence the culture of my department? What does it take to shift from “doer” to “leader”? Am I preparing myself to sit at the table where decisions are made? That transition can feel overwhelming. Some days it feels like we’re grinding with little payoff. But leadership growth is often less about big leaps and more about small, consistent steps that eventually change the way people see you and how you see yourself. So here’s my thought for today: What’s one “small step” you’ve taken recently that moved you closer to being the kind of leader you want to be?

As a leader, asking my team questions about cases and the schedule (knowing that I know what case/doc is in OR that day) keeps them checking and making themselves aware of what is going on in the OR because they know im going to ask!!

@Avery Henderson I started doing that because there were times where vendors / scrub techs / nurses would ask me about case times and instruments for the next day and I couldn't answer their questions. They would normally ask someone on the leadership team or at the OR Desk, but when they were not avalable, they would ask SPD hoping we could help. I wanted to be able to help, so I took the initiative to learn. Also, our surgery center didnt use preference cards as they should 😵‍💫 so knowing those cases helped identify next days needs.
