SOP's Are Not Paperwork - They Are Risk Control
Most cleaning businesses think SOP's exist to “train staff.” That’s incorrect. SOPs exist to control risk. ⚠️ In commercial environments, SOP's protect you from: - Inconsistent results - Client disputes - Liability claims - Equipment misuse - Staff improvisation A real SOP answers: - Who does the task - In what order - With what tools - Under what conditions - What “done” actually means If an SOP cannot be followed by someone who didn’t write it, it’s not an SOP, it’s a note. Professional SOP's are: - Role-specific (Tech vs Lead vs Supervisor) 👥 - Conditional (2-tech vs 3-tech jobs) - Equipment-dependent 🛠 - Photo-verified 📸 This community will break SOP's down the way they’re actually used in the field, not how they look in a binder. Structure and Accountability is the goal❗

Laura, thank you for sharing. I love this response because I’ve been in this exact same spot!! 🙌 I can tell you from my experience at owning multiple businesses, THIS is a great place to be, even if it doesn’t feel like it yet. First off, being strong in shower restoration is a serious advantage 🚿 Most people in cleaning stay general, which is totally fine if that’s what you want… but I feel specialists are the ones who can end up charging higher rates and stand out faster. So Laura, let’s take a step back for a second. Right now, I don’t think the focus should be about how or when you should quit from your employer and go on your own. I think building your company and reputation in parallel with your employed work is very important 📈 Yes, you’ll have to schedule your own clients around your employer's schedule…Yes, you may feel like you’re working long hours, every day, including weekends and even holidays…And yes, you may not have time for a social life for a while… But guess what??? 👇 Think of it as training for when you fully own and operate your own cleaning business 💼Because that’s exactly how it’s going to feel when you work for yourself. You are in TRAINING to become your own boss ⚔️You are forging yourself like a samurai sword. This is the reality. If you keep following my account and posts, I’ll dive more into the entrepreneurship side because wow… what a rollercoaster ride it is🎢😅 Building your own clientele in this space usually starts within your own network: Family, Friends, Acquaintances. Utilize these, they’re powerful. 🤝Don’t underestimate word of mouth. The goal is to ignite the fire around what you do 🔥And you do that by building real connections. If you don’t have business cards, make some. There are affordable online services now and this gives you something tangible to pass along while you spread the word about your side hustle (that will eventually become your main hustle). Photos & Videos are huge 📸 Before & after photos are very important. Short videos of your process too.
Welcome to Clean Care Authority
Welcome to Clean Care Authority. This community is built for professionals who approach commercial cleaning as an operation, a system, and a business.. not just a service. Most spaces online focus on residential work, quick tips, or surface-level advice. That’s not what this is. This community is centered around: - Operational systems - Field-tested SOPs - Equipment and workflow strategy - Risk control and quality standards - Real-world execution in commercial environments Everything shared here comes from experience across offices, venues, post-construction sites, and specialty cleaning work. What You’ll Find Here - Breakdowns of how professional SOPs are actually structured - Insights on equipment, chemicals, and workflow decisions - Lessons from running and scaling a service-based business - Real scenarios from the field.. what worked, what didn’t, and why - Discussions that go beyond theory into actual execution What Makes This Community Different This isn’t just a place to learn from one person. This is a space where: - Operators share real-world experience - Professionals contribute lessons, insights, and perspectives - Discussions lead to better systems, decisions, and standards I’ll be sharing a lot based on my own experience, but I don’t have every answer, and that’s not the goal. The goal is to build a community where: People operating at a high level can contribute, challenge ideas, and improve together. What This Community Is NOT - Not residential-focused - Not hype or “get rich cleaning” content - Not spam, self-promotion, or low-effort posts How to Get Value Immediately 1. Start with the foundational and SOP posts 2. Read through discussions and real-world breakdowns 3. Ask specific, thoughtful questions 4. Share your own experience when it adds value This community is about raising the standard of commercial cleaning, facility maintenance and business operations as a whole through systems, discipline, and shared experience.
