⚾ OFF-SEASON DEVELOPMENT
The off-season is one of the best opportunities to refine your skills and focus on the details that need attention. During the season, you're playing games, practicing and trying to perform. The off-season gives you the time to step back and ask: What do I need to get better at? Maybe it's: ⚾ Hitting mechanics ⚾ Fielding & footwork ⚾ Throwing ⚾ Pitching ⚾ Baserunning 🧠 Mental game 📊 Improving measurable performance Once you identify those areas, the off-season is the time to get the reps in. Slow things down, work on the movement, build consistency and then gradually increase the speed and difficulty. For throwing and pitching, though, arm care still needs to be part of the plan. You don't need to spend the entire off-season throwing at high volumes. There are plenty of ways to develop without constantly putting stress on the arm. The goal is to use the off-season to build the skills and habits that will help you when the season starts. I'm looking at putting together some off-season development opportunities focused on skill refinement and getting quality reps in. So I'm curious: What is the #1 skill you or your player would want to work on this off-season? Drop it in the comments. 👇 Details Matter. ⚾

Hard to nail down just one but if it could only be one I would say hitting is the most valuable asset a player can have at his age. Strong mechanics, consistency, pitch recognition. Pitching definitely on the list but again at his age if you can throw strikes you can be effective, that most likely changes as they get older. Top 5 for Liam this offseason: 1. Hitting: Stay through the middle longer. 2. Pitching: Fastball command/control. 3. Changeup: Command, consistent movement & mix. 4. Hitting: Cont’d pitch recognition. 5. Athleticism: Speed, strength & explosiveness.
Swing Finish
Liam is playing with the idea of changing the finish on his swing. Normally he has always finished with 2 hands through but working with Brett Gray in his last session trying to promote “staying through the middle” longer he had him release his top hand. With you knowing Liam’s tendencies do you agree with working this adjustment during the off season? 1st 2 videos are his 2 hand finish and the next two are his 1 hand finish.

Metrics wise. Set all his records that day distance and exit velo. But more importantly he was more consistent with hard line drives hitting gaps. Small sample size but something we’ll focus on this off season.
JR Swing Breakdown
⚾ SWING BREAKDOWN Want Coach JR to take a look at your swing? Drop your swing video in the comments below! Please submit TWO angles: 📹 1. Side view — camera facing the hitter from the side 📹 2. Behind the hitter — camera positioned behind the hitter, looking toward the pitcher A few tips: • Make sure the entire swing is visible • Use a normal game-speed swing • Try to keep the camera steady • One or two swings from each angle is plenty 🔥 At the end of the weekend, I’ll randomly choose ONE swing for a JR Baseball breakdown. I’ll look at the details of the swing and explain what I see, what I like, and what could be improved. And even if your swing isn’t selected, watch the breakdowns and learn from each other. Drop questions, share your thoughts, and help other players in the community. The more we participate, the more valuable this group becomes. 👇 Post your swing below and let’s get the community going!
