Shutting off ads or Keeping
Great content. Could you clarify this. Under LAKE training you mentioned we should stop ads that are not working. Under community lessons, it says that shutting off ads will hurt us.

The key nuance is this: if you can clearly see that ads are contributing to the ecosystem, don’t shut them off. If you’re absolutely certain they’re not performing and not contributing, turn them off. The Lake Method has a criteria checklist you’ll want to go through to help determine whether to keep them on. The free content introduces the idea, and Lake Method goes deeper, but the same message applies.

If your target KPI is $30 and a set of ads is running $50 with strong engagement and a high click-through rate, I’d keep them running because they’re likely contributing to the ecosystem. If the ads are $90 and engagement is very low, they’re probably not playing a vital role and the spend is wasted. In that case, shut them off. It’s not a blanket rule to never shut off ads. Be careful before shutting anything off, and make sure you have a good reason to do so. Don’t try to optimize for winners only. That’s the key point.
