I personally have a 24 week cycle, a 12 week base phase + a 12 week peak Phase. During the base phase the focus is muscle and capacity building, with a slight focus on absolute strength (It's definitely still there but not to the extent as the peak Phase) I also won't do as many event days. In the peak Phase it is the opposite, the focus on absolute strength goes way up, and the max effort lower day officially becomes an event day for the remaining 12 weeks till Comp.
