I just connected Etsy to Xero for one of my stores a few months ago. You need to do this from Xero, not from Etsy. Xero has an app store (top right corner when you're logged in) in which you have to select the Etsy app and connect your store. Xero uses a provider called Amaka for the integration. Out of the box you can only got back 12 - 14 months for importing historic transactions. If you want to go back further you can open a ticket with Amaka (which I did) and they'll import more data if needed. They are very quick in responding. The Etsy app on the Xero app store has mixed reviews but for me it worked like a charm. If you're selecting advanced options during the setup (can be changed later) you can select to which GL account each transaction type goes. Any new GL account that is needed will be created automatically. Every single transaction is ported into Xero and it doesn't take long after a sale for the data to sync. For me the Etsy app saves a ton of time as I don't have to worry about any manual entries. Everything is done for me in (almost) real time. I haven't synced 2 stores yet but I'd try logging into one Etsy store first and setting that one up. Then logging into the second store in Etsy and trying to connect the Etsy app from Xero again.
