Advice?
What is one piece of advice you wish you had when you started writing?

Write what you want to read. I feel like it’s so easy to get caught up in what’s popular at any given time instead of writing something you’re actually passionate about.

@Kaylee Richards exactly!! You also never know what’s going to be the next thing to take off. You could very well be writing the next popular genre 😂🥰
Characters!
Describe your favorite character in your WIP with only one sentence!! (I apologize for my absence recently, it has been crazy lately!)

In my WIP I’m most dedicated to my favorite characters name is Altair. He’s a big bad dragon that doesn’t want the world to know he’s actually a cinnamon roll 😂😂🥰
Time of Day?
What time of day do you guys tend to write at? I'm curious to see who's a night or morning writer or in between!

I’m all over the place depending on the day and what I have going on. Typically I write in the morning while my youngest eats breakfast and then I write in the later afternoon while I’m waiting in the car line for my older kids 😂 weekends I prefer to write at night after they’re in bed though so I can sit down and get chunks done at a time instead of stopping and starting again.

@Kaylee Richards that’s so reasonable! I’m not a morning person at all so I’d stay up late before I get up before the sun 😂😂
Chapter Lengths?
Tell me! What do you prefer to write/read? Long chapters or short? Tell us what you define as a long or short chapter as well lol

I prefer shorter chapters!! Max 10 pages for me. I read in chunks and any longer than that I usually get pulled away mid chapter and that drives me crazy. I’m a mom and so I don’t usually have time to sit down for more than a chapter at a time here and there unless I’m doing pick up 😂

@Kaylee Richards EVERY. TIME. 😂😂😂
Readers?
Have you had anyone read your writing or WIPs? What questions do you ask them after they are done reading? One question I always ask is: "At what point did you feel like you wanted to put it down?" This usually indicates lulls in your writing or pacing issues.

Every time I finish a chapter I read it to my husband and then just stare at him expectantly for notes lol. Usually I have him listen for plot holes as it comes together or double check my wording to make sure the flow is okay. He hears all my ideas while I’m fleshing it out so he’s the only one that knows where my WIPs are supposed to go.

First time indie author to a book titled Bryndis. Plenty of WIPs to keep me busy. Excited to connect with others who understand the industry!
