The person you become
What if becoming ill doesn’t mean becoming a lesser version of who you were? What if it allows you to discover parts of yourself you never knew were there? ❤️ This resonates

This has definitely been the case for me! Discovering I was narcoleptic in 1991 opened a world of understanding I never would have benefitted from otherwise. And then coming face to face with anxiety disorder in 2002, and major recurrence in 2020 and forward, I discover with each event a part of me that's been waiting to be acknowledged and included in how I navigate the world.

What would make this a good week for you? One word is absolutely fine.

What is one adaptation you’ve made that has improved your quality of life, even a little?
When we talk about adaptation, it’s easy to focus on the big changes. But often it’s the small adjustments that make the biggest difference over time. For example: • pacing differently • setting clearer boundaries • using reminders and notes for brain fog • scheduling rest before you need it • asking for help sooner • simplifying daily routines Many of these changes may seem small from the outside, but they can have a significant impact on how we experience everyday life. We’d love to hear: What’s one adaptation you’ve made that has genuinely helped, even if it seems minor? Your experience may give someone else an idea they haven’t considered.

I often have trouble going back to sleep when I wake up to pee in the night, because I start cataloging everything I need to work on. So I send myself an email, which allows my brain to release it.
💫 NEW: Passion Projects
There’s more to us than managing symptoms, appointments and energy levels. We also have ideas. Interests. Businesses. Creative projects. Causes we care about. Things we’re building, learning, writing, making or dreaming about. So we’ve created a new Passion Projects space in the community. 💛 This is somewhere you can share something you’re working on that genuinely matters to you — whether it’s already out in the world or still just taking shape. Maybe you’re: ✨ Starting a business ✨ Writing a book ✨ Creating art, music or content ✨ Building a website or community ✨ Studying or learning something new ✨ Raising awareness for something you care about ✨ Working on a personal project ✨ Or quietly nurturing an idea you’d love to bring to life Tell us about it! What are you working on? Why does it matter to you? And is there a way this community could support you? That might simply mean taking a look, following your page, sharing some encouragement, giving feedback, or helping you make a useful connection. And if you’re not working on anything right now, that’s absolutely fine too — come have a look at what other members are creating and give them a little support. ❤️ One of the best things about building a community is discovering just how interesting the people inside it are. 👇 So, what’s your passion project?

@Amy Keith I had no idea. 😊 But then, that's the beauty of a life here on Earth.

@Cola Chen no idea how you solve this, but it's what Bob Proctor always called the Knowing -> Doing Gap. I have a long, never-ending list looping in my head. I try to reduce it but more just gets added. To the point of inertia, which results in nothing getting done. Can't wait to learn more about what you're building!
👋 Welcome to Chronic Illness Resilience
We're so glad you're here. If you've just watched our welcome videos, you'll know this community isn't about pretending chronic illness is easy. And it isn't about staying stuck either. It's about moving forward. Every person here has a different story, but many of us share the same feeling... Life changed, and we're trying to figure out what comes next. That's exactly why this community exists. We believe chronic illness may change your life, but it doesn't have to stop your life. Whether you're here to rebuild your confidence, rediscover your purpose, adapt to a new reality, or simply connect with people who genuinely understand, you're in the right place. We'd love to get to know you. 👇 Introduce yourself in the comments using these three prompts: 1. Where are you joining us from? 2. How long have you been living with chronic illness? (Or are you supporting someone who is?) 3. What's one area of your life you're ready to move forward with? Take a few minutes to read through the introductions and welcome a few other members too. This community grows stronger every time someone reaches out. Welcome to Chronic Illness Resilience. We're excited to be part of your journey.

1. I love in Longmont, Colorado, just northeast of Boulder. 2. I have two chronic illnesses, one diagnosed in 1991 and the second in 2002. 3. My hope is to enhance my ability to thrive with these two chronic guests in my physiological house.
