You have a confirmation while reading scripture. 3. You have confirmation from 2-3 people who are authorities on the subject. 4. You have confirmation from 2-3 wise Christian leaders that hear from Holy Spirit. 5. The opportunity had presented itself without you looking for it. 6. The necessary resources have been provided. 7. If you're married, your spouse has confirmation that this is the right thing to do. You and your spouse should take these tests independently.
