BRAIN GAINS 🧠 💪🏻
I am currently putting together the videos and resources for the Brain Gains section. Everything will have a little bit of theory and explanation as to why it works. The main objectives as always will be in the IMPLEMENTATION of the tool, strategy etc. My question for you is what do you need help with specifically when it comes to all things brain, behaviour, mindset etc? @Amy Flack @Vesi Angelova @Bev Shortley @Danni Broughton @Lisa Brook @Steven Brodie @Carly Copping @Claire Mackaness @Clare Gittings @Janine Copley @Ruth Crowson @Sharon Conquer @David Weston @Natasha Dettmer @Sally Dimmock @Yvonne Dane @Gary Watson @Julia Gorton @Kathryn Hamill @Janice Ryder @Kerry Johnstone @Katie Styles @Kelly Saghir @Mandy Kenyon @Louise Porter @Mandy Powell @Nicci Parris @Sarah Quinney @Simon Roberts @Sally Saunders

Extremes. Restrict/Binge/Purge. All in or all out. Endless doom loop. Also leads to extreme. Sacking it off if not perfect. May as well not bother. Getting started and overcoming dear around exercise etc. in new/current body. Comparison. Denial or I guess like just blindness more out of busy-ness and I guess complacency. Habit changing and to the point habit breaking.
Not perfect...but better
Tired. Child is dropping nap. Work is non-stop. What I wanted for breakfast was probably closer to chocolate croissant and comfort food because I can't be arsed. What I actually got was pre-packaged fruit (because I knew today would be like this) and a tub of guacamole (because I knew any avocado I got would end it's time in the veg drawer and not on my toast). And yes it's on a saucer because no I'm not doing extra washing up 😅 So it's not perfect. But it was a little better than it could be. And tomorrow I can try and do a little bit better again.
Not perfect...but better
Audit
@James Orpin @Bjorn Dawson Audit completed I'm surprised. Honestly thought food (always was) and tracking would be my issues but actually having to answer and then actually reading the results, it really was eye opening. But also made complete sense when faced with it. Focus areas: Resistance Training - this is the one I've been most scared of since all the surgeries but it's the biggest focus area. Going to aim to do either a fit in 5 daily or at least 3 x weekly Old Skool Principles - fighting the spiral is a constant battle not least because of the shame/guilt/binge/purge/go too far the other way/repeat cycle. Going to start with Go Again In 24 Hours (bad day is not a bad end) and Just Do Something (especially in the overwhelm of working toddler mum) Energy - thought it would be the caffeine cut off but then I scrolled. STRESS and Stress Relief. The pressure and I already know how very physically my body reacts to stress of all kinds. Wound up like a string barely registering even a decent night's sleep. So that's the big focus in this bit. Do they seem an OK pivot? And do you think there's a better way to re introduce the resistance because I'm so scared. Ive never really worked out in this body 😩 Goodness. It's training, but also therapy 🙈 thank you in advance though! Xx

@James Orpin thank you Jamesy! It was a big eye opener I was doublw reading everything! 2 birds with 1 stone for resistance then! I'll keep an eye out for Brain Gains 💕 Amazing! I'll keep an eye out. I have small and medium dumbells and have lots of bands (the flat ones and the tubey ones). Don't think we have the kettlebell anymore but I can build up to it or use one of my dumbells like a goblet hold? Enjoy the land of my people ❤️ 🐑🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 xxx
AUGUST 28 DAY CHALLENGE - Daily Dones Accountability post
This is this month's challenge (Starts on the 1st and finishes on the 28th, but you can join in whenever you want) =============================================== THIS MONTH'S CHALLENGE (Actions) 🔥 Increase your daily step count by 1,000 - 3,000 (on day 1, post a photo of your daily average as it stands for last month or this year so far). 💦 Drink 2-3 litres of water per day - (yes, this can include squash and soft drinks but try not to over-rely on them). =============================================== IMPORTANT NOTICE - this post doesn’t close on the 28th. Keep posting your daily dones in here right through to the end of the month. (Unless the month only has 28 days) A new challenge & new post goes up on the 1st; this one gets replaced then, not before. =============================================== As always, feel free to choose what you want to focus on if our suggestions don’t tickle your pickle 😊👍🏻 YOU CAN JOIN AT ANY TIME - if you’ve missed the start, it doesn’t matter; something is better than nothing - BE SPECIFIC - “I’m going to walk more every day” is NOT specific. “Every morning at 6.30 am I’m going to walk for 15 minutes outside” is specific Use the tracker provided (link is in the Resources & Tools section in the classroom) or create and use your own ACTION TO TAKE NOW - Comment below what you will be doing for the next 28 days - whether that’s following our suggestion, doing your own or a bit of both The purpose of this post is for you to share your Daily Dones 👇🏻 ✅ Pictures of whatever you are doing (Food, sweaty selfies, chugging back some water, etc) ✅ Screenshot of your Tracker ✅ Daily check-in to say what went well (celebrate those wins) ✅ Ask questions (related to the challenge) ✅ Motivate, inspire, cheer others on 3,2,1 let’s gooooooo P.S. That's what I've had to start doing. When everyone is eating breakfast or still asleep usually 😅 thank you lovely! You too 💙💙

Still a checkerboard and been a bit of a sh💩tter this week. 5 days bed before midnight was 100% not intentional (thought beneficial) and more just passing out after all the extra work and fighting a professional boundary pusher all week! Still, have started recruiting child to help me recruit husband to go for after dinner family walks (because too bloody hot) and today took the kids/cousins to a farm and I had more energy than would have a while ago. Started string, wobbled in the middle, so 2 weeks to make a better dent! Really inspiring seeing everyone ❤️
Small but mighty
Wins are small but telling. I checked in. Even on the days I didn't do so good. I didn't quit. That's huge for the reformed perfectionist. This week I kept us moving and my toddler told me when we needed a little rest at one point😅 I made decisions and choices that are the kind the "after" me will make. And I think that's rhe missing bit. I'm the "before" version right now, but actually making those choices now is what will (hopefully) get me to the "after" . I did a workout instead of doomscrolled. I've planned our family evening around getting outside and getting more steps. I listened to my body and took a 2 hour nap with the kid today (instead of ticking chores off my list). So physical changes not so much but slowly feeling a mental shift.

Thank you both. All week I thought I was failing but when I had to actively think of wins I realised my actual wins (mindset) were just different to what I hoped for (more sleep, more steps, body changes). Looking forward to the coming weeks and months guys! Thank you so much for doing all of this 🫶🙏
