Grocery shopping and other household chores. Each Saturday, one of my kids chooses what their dinner/movie night at home is. Sunday's are laundry days and chill/relax days to recover from the week of therapies appts
Welcome👋 to our new friends who joined us today! Wave hello and tell us what 🎂ages you are 🏠homeschooling and your 📚fav subject to teach! I’ll go first in the comments.
Hi. Been busy the last few weeks with family life. I have a 15 yo son and 12 yo boy/girl twins. My 12 yo daughter loves dance and art (Phys Ed and Art) and my 15 yo is on a competitive trampoline team (Phys Ed). My 12 yo son's favourite subject is playing Video Games (too many to list).
Over the next few weeks you will see courses populated at the Homeschool Help Desk. A few we are working on are: Homeschool 101, What about the baby!, Is Socialization a concern? and more…. What would you like to see a course on?
@Breanne Cooper, I agree. When we first started, I struggled or felt really guilty with including the weekly therapy session (speech, ot and mental health counselling) as part of the homeschooling routine/schedule.
We still go out. Can't cancel therapy sessions if its raining. I can't afford the cancelation fees (x3) if we miss it. If it's a stay home day (no therapy), my tweens/teen get to play extra video games, watch movies or tv shows.
The school bus picked up the kids across the street this morning, and it was so satisfying to not have had to rush my kids out the door to catch it. Anyone else loving that their kids will be home with them right now?
My tweens/teens wake up between 9-10am. They wouldn't make the 8:10am time for bus pick up on our court. I get to listen to the crazy neighbour's 2 kids (JK & Gr 7) start screaming and fighting with each other as they walk to the school bus pick up/drop off spot.
