It's WTF Wednesday (long post)
I’m having a real WTF moment realizing it’s Wednesday. Yesterday, we had to make the heartbreaking decision to say goodbye to our beloved horse, Simply. For 9 years, my days were shaped around him… checking on him, caring for him, just being with him. Simply, was literally our way of life. And now… there’s this quiet space where that rhythm used to live. Grief does something strange to time. The world keeps moving as if nothing changed, but for you… everything feels slowed down, like you’re walking through it in a different reality. So today, there is no artwork to share, no, "what's the focus" for the week. Just a question and a poem: How do you grieve? For me… I’ve learned to feel it. All of it. The waves, the heaviness, the moments that catch you off guard. I didn’t always do that. When Eric passed, I tried to be “strong.” I pushed it down, held it together… and it only delayed the healing. It wasn’t until I let myself actually feel the things I didn’t want to feel that something began to shift. Somewhere in that process, I found my way back to creating from passion instead of performance. Writing. Designing. Letting the emotion move through something instead of getting stuck inside me. It became a release. A quiet place to put the pain… and somehow turn it into something meaningful. Today, I want to share something I wrote in honor of our sweet boy… whose name couldn’t have been more fitting: Simply Worth the Wait You carried more than riders, and jumped more than hurdles, You carried our joy & sorrows through life’s tightest circles, a quiet reminder the journey is Simply worth the wait. They spoke in low numbers, said chances were small, But you answered by staying, outlasting it all, a living reminder that faith is Simply worth the wait. Through love and through prayer, through each fragile day, You gave us more time than they said you would stay, a miracle reminder that hope is Simply worth the wait. When Loss tried to find us and pull us apart,

What a beautiful tribute—truly moving. It’s wonderful to see his influence still inspiring your writing, and I’m grateful you shared it.
Focus Friday
Some days you wake up ready to conquer the world… and some days life walks in like, “Yeah… we’re gonna need a softer plan today.” 💛 If your focus feels off, scattered, or just plain hard… it might not be a discipline problem. Sometimes… it’s because your heart is holding something bigger. Right now, mine is. Our sweet Simply is nearing the end of his journey… and my mind keeps drifting back to him. And here’s the part we don’t talk about enough: 👉 You can still show up AND feel it all. This morning I gave myself two 20-minute pockets of focus… and honestly? That felt like a win. Not because everything is getting done… but because I showed up in the middle of the grief I’m carrying. So if today feels heavy, try this instead: 👉 The Gentle Focus Method Pick ONE thing. Set a timer (10–20 minutes). Give it your attention… and nothing else. Then pause. If your mind drifts back to what’s on your heart… don’t fight it. Give it a moment. Let it breathe. Then come back. Because focus isn’t about shutting life out… it’s about learning how to move with it. ✨ So tell me… what’s your one 10-20 minute thing today?

Thinking of you!
I need to confess something… 😏
I have had an Easter door-hanger project since the end of February, and it is almost finished. It’s cute. It’s a bunny. It had BIG “look at me being seasonal and decorating” energy. And guess what? Easter is in 3 days… and that thing has been moved to the bottom of my to-do list more times than I care to admit. Like… at this point, are we decorating for Easter or just aggressively planning for next year? 🫠 So now I’m sitting here asking myself: Are we freeing the bunny 🐰 or promoting it to content queen? 😏 Because let’s be honest… am I really hanging it on my door for 3 days? Or am I just trying to prove I can finish what I started? 👀 And THIS is where it hit me… It’s not about the bunny. 🐰 It’s about the fact that I keep carrying things that don’t fit my current energy anymore… …and then I sit here wondering why I feel stuck. And I have a feeling I’m not the only one 👀 So try this with me today: Pick ONE thing from your list and ask: Is it... ✨ A MUST do (non-negotiable, now) ✨ A WANT to do (fun, but not urgent) ✨ A NOT NOW / MARINATE (future, stop touching it) Then decide: ✨ Let it go ✨ Move it up ✨ Or give it a real deadline (or a new purpose 👀) Because it’s not the list… 👉 It’s all that undecided/unfinished energy sitting with it Please tell me I’m not the only one with a project quietly judging me from across the room 😅 👇 What’s your “Easter bunny project”? ps... (you can get the bunny design in @Connie Beaty Green Velvet Subscription box HERE.)

WOW -- got me thinking about my list!
What a storm
Rough night with storms last night. I’ve never seen anything quite like it. Tornado touched down about 12-15 miles north of us. The wind in the second video felt like I stuck my head out the window at 60mph so much dust.

Moodboard Monday: Lemons & Blueberries
Moodboard Monday is here, and this one was sparked by a little creative ripple from last week. 🍋💙 If you grabbed the lemon design from last week’s WTF Wednesday drop, you might recognize where this inspiration started. Those bright little bursts of yellow stuck with me, and before I knew it, they were dancing with deep indigo blues and turning into this moodboard. There’s something about this combination that just sings. The blues feel calm, grounded, and thoughtful. The yellows bring the spark. Together they create that beautiful contrast where energy and peace sit side by side. It reminds me of those early spring mornings when the world is still waking up. The air is crisp, the light is soft, and suddenly everything feels a little more hopeful. Or a warm summer afternoon where sweet and sour meet in a glass of lemonade… sunshine on your shoulders, laughter in the air, and that perfect little zing that makes the day feel alive. Back when I worked as an interior decorator, creating color palettes like this was always one of my favorite parts of the process. Moodboards aren’t rules. They’re more like invitations. A starting point that says, “Let’s see where creativity takes us.” This one feels fresh, bold, and a little playful to me. Like blueberries in a bowl, lemon in your tea, and sunshine spilling across the table. Now I’m curious about you… What does this palette evoke for you? Would you create something calm with it, or something bold? And if you used last week’s lemons in a project, I’d love to see what you made. 🍋✨ You can find the Lemon Design Here.
