@Kay Radebe Even as a Max plan user, I still feel like the token burn rate is higher than before. There are many ways to reduce unnecessary usage, but I will focus on your specific use case and the core issue. Claude is excellent at critical thinking, writing, and coding. That is where it truly shines. But when it comes to image generation, it is not the most cost effective option. Anything related to images, whether generation or processing, consumes significantly more tokens compared to code. That is simply how these systems work. So I would not recommend using Claude for image related tasks. Instead, I would suggest using Nano Banana Pro, ChatGPT image model, or even Google AI Studio or Gemini. These are better suited for image work and are much more cost efficient. You can also explore open source options like Flux models, many of which are very affordable. From my experience, Nano Banana Pro offers a strong balance between quality and cost. That said, even Gemini through AI Studio can often get the job done without needing to move into Claude Code. One important thing to understand is this. Cheaper models often require more iterations, and more iterations mean a higher total cost. So a better model that gets it right in one attempt can actually be cheaper overall. What I recommend is simple. Start with ChatGPT. If you are not satisfied, then try Nano Banana Pro or Gemini. You can also use Google AI Studio directly. In many cases, it already gives you exactly what you need without extra complexity. When it comes to upgrading your plan, you need a clear rule. If you are hitting limits on the 20 dollar plan three to four times a day, and this happens consistently across most days, then moving to Max makes sense. But even with Max, do not jump to the 200 dollar plan because of one or two heavy days. Only upgrade if you consistently hit limits on the 100 dollar plan. Otherwise, the 20 dollar plan is usually enough unless you are already hitting those limits.
