Before we move forward with Week 4, I want to acknowledge something directly that I have talked about in passing since completing our Spring Term a little over a month ago... I am sincerely sorry for how inconsistent and quiet I have been inside the Academy recently. I know that many of you joined this space because you trusted me to provide ongoing guidance, teaching and a meaningful experience. Regardless of what has been happening behind the scenes, I recognize that my absence has affected the energy and momentum of the Academy and that you deserved clearer communication from me. The last several weeks have included a difficult family situation, burnout and a significant personal transition as a result. After years of placing so much of my energy into work, I reached a point where I could no longer ignore the parts of my life that had been neglected in the process. I have needed time to take care of my family, restore my own capacity and honestly reconsider how I can lead this Academy without repeatedly overextending myself and disappearing when that way of working becomes unsustainable. I do not share that as an excuse. I share it because the work we teach here is meant to be lived. I am currently moving through the same process of awareness, recalibration and alignment that I ask you to practice. That has required me to confront where my systems were not supporting my commitments including my commitment to all of you. I am deeply grateful to those who have remained here while I worked through this transition. I do not take your patience, trust or investment lightly. Going forward, the Academy will be more structured, focused and consistent as I recalibrate to this new baseline.
