Proverbs 18:20–21 “From the fruit of their mouth a person’s stomach is filled; with the harvest of their lips they are satisfied.” - Your words, the things you speak, taste like something. - Are your words sweet or sour? - According to Solomon, you will eat what you speak. - It will either satisfy you or continue to corrupt and destroy you. A lot of us say things every day without taking account of what’s coming out of our mouths: - “I can’t.” - “I won’t.” - “I’m unable.” - “Our marriage will always be terrible.” - “I’m broke.” - “I’m an anxious person.” - “I’m just that kind of person.” - “This is how it’s always been.” He says the power of life and death are in your tongue. - It’s not just whether your words are sweet or sour, but what you say can build you or kill you. - A lot of people believe right but talk wrong. - How can we say we’re people of faith, but our vocabulary is full of fear? - You can’t worship Sunday and worry Monday through Saturday. You won’t make it. - If the only time you eat is Sunday, then you will starve. - You have to learn how to pray right and confess right. You can’t hope to have a life that’s victorious if all you do is speak words of defeat. - You can’t just pray right; you have to talk right. - You don’t just walk faith, you talk faith. Hebrews 11:1 It’s not someday faith, but faith for today. - Faith for your marriage. - Faith for your business. - Faith for your kids. - Right now and right here. - It’s looking at something invisible and being certain of it. - It’s certainty in the invisible. Out of the heart, the mouth begins to speak. - What you believe in your heart shows up in your mouth. - You have to speak life. - Faith talks. “I walk by faith, not by sight.” - There is a language to faith. What Does Faith Sound Like? 1. Faith Talks Ahead - The fastest way to make something a reality is to make it a confession. - If you want to do something, start by saying it out loud. - Your words have to be said before they’re seen. - Faith says it before I see it.

🌿 POINT 1 — Ruth 3:1–9 RUTH TAKES A STEP OF FAITH - Naomi desires security and a future for Ruth. - She recognizes that Boaz, as a close relative, could potentially serve as a family redeemer. - Naomi gives Ruth specific instructions for approaching Boaz at the threshing floor. - Ruth responds, “I will do everything you say.” - Ruth approaches Boaz respectfully after he has gone to sleep. - Boaz wakes during the night and is startled to find Ruth there. - Ruth asks Boaz to “spread the corner of your garment over me,” identifying him as a family redeemer. - Her request is essentially asking Boaz to take responsibility as her redeemer and provide the security Naomi had hoped for. Key Truth: Faith does not always mean sitting still. Sometimes trusting God means taking a courageous step while leaving the outcome in His hands. Reflection Question: Where might God be asking you to take a step of faith even though you cannot guarantee the outcome? 🌿 POINT 2 — Ruth 3:10–18 BOAZ RESPONDS WITH INTEGRITY - Boaz recognizes Ruth’s kindness and honorable character. - He acknowledges that Ruth could have pursued younger men but did not. - He tells Ruth not to be afraid. - Boaz is willing to redeem her, but reveals there is another relative who has a closer legal claim. - Instead of taking matters into his own hands, Boaz chooses to handle the situation honorably. - Ruth remains there until early morning and leaves discreetly. - Boaz sends Ruth home with six measures of barley for Naomi. - Ruth tells Naomi everything that happened. - Naomi encourages Ruth to wait because Boaz will not rest until the matter is settled. Key Truth: What God has for us does not require us to compromise our character to obtain it. Boaz shows that integrity matters even when we deeply desire the outcome. Reflection Question: Are you able to trust God enough to do things the right way, even when taking a shortcut might get you what you want faster? 🌿 POINT 3 — Ruth 4:1–12 BOAZ BECOMES THE REDEEMER

In this week’s study, we explore what it looks like to trust God’s process, move with faith, and remain rooted in integrity. Together we unpack Ruth and Boaz’s story of redemption, restoration, and how God can use ordinary obedience to create an impact far beyond what we can see.

Prayer & Position James 5:13–16 It’s not performance that makes prayer effective. It’s the position you are in Christ. What are the things you’re keeping back because they’re painful? - Maybe it’s something you did. - Maybe it’s something that was done to you. - The thing about secrets is that we can keep them, but eventually they start keeping us. - They live rent-free in our lives. - But we’re paying for them with our peace. Secrets separate. Confession creates community. 1. Say Something James 5:16 James says: - Is anyone in trouble? Pray. - Is anyone sick? Pray. - Is anyone in sin? You better confess that, sis. Every condition has a confession. Sometimes we wait for other people to call and check on us, but sometimes you have to call someone and tell them what’s going on so they can pray for you. For every circumstance, there is a confession. We have no problem letting everyone know when we’re doing good. We don’t mind talking about things when they make us look good. But when the pain increases, we get quiet. When we constantly say, “I’m fine,” we can close the door to our healing. - We’re not called to bleed on everyone. - There is a difference between privacy and secrecy. - Privacy says, “Someone needs to know.” - Secrecy says, “No one needs to know.” You don’t need everyone, but you do need someone. 2. Stop Hiding When God asks Adam, “Where are you?” He isn’t asking because He lost Adam. God sees him. The question isn’t about Adam’s location. It’s an invitation for Adam to admit his condition. God is still asking us: “Where are you?” Where is the real you? What’s actually going on? Sin can lead to guilt, and guilt can turn into shame. Shame tells us to hide. All of us want to be known without actually being seen. So we hide and try to carry everything on our own. But hiding is hard work, and silence has a cost. We can become so accustomed to pain and trauma that we start pushing away the very things and people God may use to help us.
