Red Carpet season is here! ๐Ÿ†
I have had such an exciting start to the week with two red carpet days, I remember when I first started doing hair, I would be dreaming of working at events like this with such incredible clients. People would laugh at me and tell me it wasnโ€™t possible, due to growing up in a small town and training in a small salon. I refused to accept it wasnโ€™t possible, and continued working hard to refine my skills and attract my dream clients and see my work on the red carpet and in the press. Fast forward to Sunday, I worked with Love Island S12 winner Toni Laites for the second time this year styling her hair for the BAFTAโ€™s, after spending the morning getting Gogglebox & Tik Tok star, and regular event client of mine Lisa Baggs ready too. Monday, I had my lovely Love Island S7 client Sharon Gaffka back in my chair styling her hair in a wet look for the Kings Trust awards. Still to this day, every booking feels like a pinch me moment seeing my looks on the red carpet and I am eternally grateful for each opportunity I get. How did I get these opportunities? By not giving up, and believing it was possible. It started by observing the looks that were current and trending, and making sure I could execute these styles confidently. I started showcasing these styles on my social media platforms as my portfolio, showcasing the work I can do, growing my socials to attract my dream clients. I also mastered these techniques and time saving skills to ensure I could create a polished look in a timely fashion. Ideally, I like at least 1.5-2 hours for a red carpet appointment, but on busy days factoring in travel, hotel check ins, any unforeseen hold ups, that isnโ€™t always possible. I only had 45 minutes to create an up-do on one client this weekend; but I knew that I had the ability to make that happen. The same can apply for any event booking, especially weddings! In my masterclasses, you will find the techniques and time saving hacks I have learned over the years so you too can do the same.

This is honestly really inspiring to read ๐Ÿ‘ Big congratulations to you from dreaming about red carpet work in a small town to actually doing celebrity clients at events like the BAFTAs is seriously amazing. You can really tell how much consistency and hard work went into this journey. Also loved the part where you talked about showcasing your work online and building your portfolio through social media. That part is so underrated. Wishing you even bigger bookings this summer By the way, I actually had a small collaboration idea related to online presence stuff for hairstylists like you. Nothing crazy haha would you be open to a super quick 2-minute chat sometime?
