Insurance question
UPDATE TO ADD: I found the best independent agent who insures all over the US, so if you need a referral let me know! $140,000 in equipment covered and GL 1M/2M for $1900/yr!! I am getting quoted close to $7500 a year for inland marine and general liability insurance. That doesn’t even include commercial auto. Can anyone let me know what I’m doing wrong and why it’s costing so much to be covered? I want to add, ERGO Next is not an inland marine insurance provider. They do not cover up to $140,000 worth of equipment. So that’s not an option for me. Maybe for general liability but how can I get a reasonable inland marine quote?
Insurance
OK, y’all have a question, who is everybody going with for insurance for their company?

I’m in the same boat, I tried looking through this group but couldn’t find a definitive answer. Austin mentioned finding a local insurance broker because there can find niche policies. Where are you located?

@Mike Kaneris did you get a quote?
4 Ways To Advertise
Most of us are in ā€œslow seasonā€ right now (or just coming out) Machines have been parked. Phone’s quiet. A lot of guys use that as an excuse to do nothing for those of you who want to do something about it, check this out! there are only 4 Ways To Advertise Literally. Every lead you will ever get comes from one of these four buckets. there are 2 types of people: • People who already know you (warm) • Total strangers (cold) Two ways to talk to them: • 1:1 (private) • 1:many (public) That gives you the ā€œcore fourā€: Let's start with the 2 ways to reach your WARM audience 1:1 (Private) aka WARM OUTREACH: Text / call every past customer, GC, realtor, excavator, and buddy who’s sent you work in the past: Script is simple: ā€œHey __, it’s __. I’ve got a couple March/April openings for mulching / clearing. Any projects you want me to look at or quote ahead of time?ā€ Goal: 20–50 real conversations this week, not 2 half‑hearted texts.\\ 1 to Many (Warm) aka POSTING CONTENT: You’ve already got followers, friends, and people creeping on your profile. Show them you’re alive. • Post before/after pics of your best jobs • Write 3–5 ā€œwhat to expect with forestry mulchingā€ posts • Do a simple selfie video walking a job and explaining what you’d change Hit Facebook profile, Google Business page, local groups, email list. Goal? 1 useful post each day (don't overthink it - you don't need an editor) Now, let's cover the COLD audience 1:1 (COLD) – aka COLD OUTREACH Builders, developers, realtors, property managers, HOA boards. Most of them don’t have ā€œtheir mulching guyā€ yet. Make a hit list of 50–100 and reach out: ā€œGot a mulcher & crew. We handle ___ area. If you ever need overgrown lots / fence lines cleaned up, happy to be your first quote.ā€Your slow season is when they actually have time to talk vendors. hit the builders and GCs for land clearing jobs hit the real estate agents for the forestry mulching and property improvement jobs 1 to many (COLD) – PAID ADS

@Michael Dennee we are also starting fresh so the answer is probably no. I don’t think we will discount.

@Michael Dennee that makes total sense. My brain works with coupons but I gotta remember that’s not how this industry works.
Carbide teeth replacement
Where is everybody ordering replacement carbide teeth? I know it depends on the head, but do you guys buy from the manufacturer or do you buy aftermarket?

Walk through
Good evening all, so I have a walk through tomorrow that’s 2 acres and wooded. The customer wants it cleared for building a pole barn. They are ok with the trees being pushed to an area. They also want the stumps removed and pushed aside as well. My questions are this: would this 3-4 or 4-5 day job? Second, would having a track loader with forestry mulcher, stump bucket, and a grapple work for what needs done? Thanks in advance

@Russell Carraway I can tell it’s fake so I wouldn’t use it. I would think it could be a scam.

@Russell Carraway I totally thought that you had AI take a picture of you and make it talk!!! I don’t know why, but for some reason, maybe my video was lagging and your mouth wasn’t moving to the words you were saying.
