I like the idea of combining music and movement while drawing attention to the visual calendar. I learned the value of having the mindset of moving away from the day/date to being in the moment and have a feeling for the day. I see how this can build confidence in anticipating transitions and giving the child a sense of emotional security. I've never formally assigned classroom jobs, so this is something I'd like to work on.

Our school has a chime to signal pausing what you are doing and listening for instructions to signal transitioning to the next thing. I appreciated learning about best practices for a visual calendar- going over it in the morning, and referencing it throughout the day. The idea of using pictures of students to represent the daily routines sounds fun! And of course the catchy tunes of "The More We Get Together" and "We Will Rock You" I thought were clever ways to grab their attention =)
