Leaving my clinical nursing job this past April was one of the BEST decisions of my life! Previously, I was an RN for 9 years working on a heart and lung surgical step-down unit and then at a community fqhc clinic. In the beginning, I loved being a nurse. Like many others, it didn't take long for the long hours, short-staffing, and lack of human connection with my patients to cause me to feel completely disconnected and over it all.
