January Seattle IRL Meet-up -- Polling for Preferences!
My Seattle Skoolpeeps! Welcome to 2026! Let us carve some time out of our busy schedules to meet-up in person and share a tale or two over food and drinks! Annnd, I had a last-minute interruption come up for this weekend. I'm sorry, @Hanna Kooyman! Hanna, are Sundays in general preferable for you, or was that just this particular weekend? Next Sunday (the 8th) will be Super Bowl Sunday, so that won't work. I'm going to post a new survey shortly for the following weekend -- February 14th or 15th -- and we'll do either that Saturday or Sunday no matter what! Thanks for understanding! And... go 'Hawks!

December IRL Meet-up - Polling for Preferences
Hi, everyone! Who's up for an IRL Meet-up on Saturday, December 20th? I'm thinking late lunchtime, like around 12pm-3pm. If you're interested, please comment with an "I am!" below. If you'd be interested in a December meet-up, but not on that day or not at that time, please post your preferences below. Regardless of what day or time-of-day works for you, please let me know which geographic area works best for you in this poll (or add your own options in the comments). No cover charge for this one. I'll be choosing a family-friendly pub, so you can purchase food and beverages there. First round of appetizers will be my treat. Cheers!

@Hanna Kooyman @Paul Freeman How does Skillet & Vine Bistro sound? It's in Seattle, not too far from I-5 / 520. The prices are pretty typical for Seattle fare, and the food is excellent. They have outdoor seating, but I don't think that's something we'll be taking advantage of this weekend! We canโt thank you enough for making the trip to come hang out with us for this event. The energy, laughs, and connections you all brought made it something special. To give you an idea of just how much fun we had, hereโs the email we received from the sailing club after the excursion: โOur Captains and Staff all agree - the Skool Crew officially wins โMost Fun Groupโ of 2025! ๐ Believe me, this is the first time Iโve ever included something like this in a follow-up email, but you all set the bar high and I HAVE to make it known. From planning to the event itself, your energy, enthusiasm, and joy made sailing with you an absolute blast. We loved having you out on the water, and the photo below pretty much says it all. We hope to see you back on deck soon - donโt let us miss out on another chance to sail with the most spirited team around!โ Thank you again for making this event unforgettable. As I noted elsewhere, I wish I could have attended, but there was no $10 option for Seattle the way there was for other cities, and I'm currently... um... watching my budget like a hawk. That said... do we have a "mayor" for Seattle? Let's get a meet-up going, you Seattle-area peeps! (I'm on the Eastside, by the way, in case anyone else is on this side of Lake Washington and can't cross the lake because, you know, vampires and all.)
