Discussion Post One - Biblical Interpretation
2 Timothy 1:13 says, "What you heard from me, keep as a pattern of sound teaching, with faith and love in Christ Jesus." We learned that "pattern" means "prototype" or "outline," which is what Paul wanted for his disciple Timothy. What is your current pattern of Biblical study? Be as honest as possible, no judgment!

Right now my current pattern in biblical study is more so certain things that the Lord may have spoken to me and I will later dive into that scripture to understand why the Lord may have revealed that me. He recently gave me Elisha and the bone situation that happened in 2 Kings. However it has not always been like this. Before this point I would honestly go to a scripture that I may have read before or scriptures we talked about in Chapel or on the weekends and re-read those and attempt to see of God would give me something else from the passage. I kind of fell into the "reading the bible continously hoping the Lord would speak to me" sort of thing.
Discussion Post One - Devotion
Based on the three examples (athlete, soldier, and farmer), which Biblical metaphor resonates most with your walk with Jesus? How did this example challenge your current devotion to God?

I would say right now the example taht resonated with me the most as the solider. I'm not sure if its the 21 day fast we are doing heading into the new year haha but I feel like my mindset right now is really to go in deeper intamacy with God. I feel like since my body is not getting any food it has sharped my spirit to really focus on what the Lord is speaking to me. It has made me rely on him and his word much more than before. I feel like I understand what Jesus was saying in Matthew 4:4 on a much deeper level now.
Discussion Post Eight - Identity
After watching the final class, how do you want to respond differently to your life's circumstances? When you've completed your reflection, turn it into a declaration: "When life feels like ____ I will respond by..."

Instead of resulting to catastrophe or dramatizing everything I want to be rooted in God's word and what he has to say about the situation so the situation doesn't alter my identity in Chirst. I want my identity in Christ to continue to be built on God's word so that I can stand firm on that when life circumstances do come. When life feels like its too heavy I will respond by seeking God's Presence.
Discussion Post Seven - Identity
Which of the seven spiritual disciplines listed in class do you need to focus on in this season of life? How do you believe this will help you with understanding and affirming your identity in Christ?

I wanted to focus on walking in awareness of the Holy Spirit. After the classes for this semester I have discover what it truly means to be the salt and light of the earth. At this point in my life when I do go to work it feels very heavy and it feels like I can't hear from God as strongly as I do in church but I know that is not the case at all. I really want to focus on spending more time in the Lords presence so that I personally can be more aware of the Holy Spirits tugs and nudges in a corporate setting. There have been times where I was at work and becuase it is a very competitive industry I thought my worth came from awards and certifications and leader boards but now that I have learned where my identity truly comes from I finally feel secure. That being said I think that by walking in depper awareness and relationship with the Holy Spirit he will help to guide, instruct and teach me on what to say and when to say it when I am in corporate and non-coprate settings.
Discussion Post Six - Identity
After creating your vision board, what are the most important details or declarations that you added to it? How do you believe this will help you with affirming your identity?

THe most important details and declarations that I added to it was about stepping into my identity and scriptures about God's love. I think one thing I have learned from this course it not only my identity but that I don't have to perform for God and that he loves me as I am now. That he loves me and is well pleased with me now. It really does bring joyful tears to my eyes when i deeply meditate on or think about how muc hhe loves me and how I am a child of God. I would hear that all the time but now that I understand what that means and I'm actually living it in it means so much more now than before.
