intro and help with numb hands-weight distribution
Hello everyone, my name is Alex from Portugal, been riding for more than 30 years consistently (now 48yo) both MTB and road. This is a video of me riding my specialized Aethos, size 56. I'm 6ft tall. I don't know but looking at the images doesn't seem to be anything wrong (maybe heel drop although saddle is at the right height). Tried multiple saddle positions,Handlebar widths and stem lenghts. At the moment using a 20 mm setback Seat Post and a 90mm stem. The saddle is a selle SMP because it's the one that gives me more support. with pretty much any other saddle (levelled or nose slightly pointing up), It feels like I'm falling onto the handlebars. it's like having no support. And even with the SMP saddle, I still have a lot of pressure on my hands and this is my main concern and why I'm seeking advice. tried also different crank lenghths and the shorter, the worse it gets. Now with 172.5mm. Cleats are all the way back (closer to the heel). Main issue is numb hands and very tired hands after just a few minutes of riding. And if I'm pushing harder it's even sooner. It feels like the majority of my weight is being supported by my hands. I've seen The Bike Fit Academy's video on YouTube which mentions the right position for the saddle to be in (so that the weight is well distributed) but I don't know to calculate or find that position. Any help is highly appreciated- thanks

@Simon Hollins yes, finding the balance is first step, then the rest has to fall into place. I have atm a 20mm setback but it has probably been too much and it's past the point of balance so I'm going to try a 10mm setback and experiment with saddle position on 5mm increments. I don't think pushing the saddle back more is advisable as then the reach will be excessive. And I'm already using a short stem (90). I can't imagine having to fit a 70 or 60 mm stem ;)

@Simon Hollins correct. And to avoid that stretching without changing the saddle position I have to shorten the stem and 90mm is already short. Yesterday I replaced the 20mm offset post with a 0 offset and it felt better but still a lot of pressure in the hands and numbness. Will continue to trial and error until I find a better compromise, thanks
Looking for some input on how this fit looks.
54 year old just getting back into Road cycling after taking 10 plus years off. Was dealing with hypothyroidism. Was misdiagnosed for several years causing me to put on a lot of weight. In the last 7 months I've lost 90 lb because I got back on the bike and adjusted my diet significantly. I am 6 ft tall currently 240 lb. My new bike is a canyon Endurace size medium.
Looking for some input on how this fit looks.

@Norman Malbaurn well done. Indeed canyon has strange sizing. I used to ride a Orbea Orca 57 (I'm also 6ft) and after a BMC roadmachine 56. But with Canyon I would have to go Medium. Trek domane is probably the bike with the highest stack, so it should be quite comfortable too. Weight is definitely something that affects fit and comfort. So stay focused and enjoy your rides. How did you fix your hand numbness? Fore aft saddle adjustment?
