I am so excited by the tiers/freemium. I've had a paid community from day one, but have been debating whether opening a separate free community as well to help get things really cranking. After 1.5 years, I was only at 71 members (15 paid – many are private students who get free access as a benefit or early adopters that I gave free access to). After switching to freemium for a week, I'm now at 88 members and way more engagement. So pleased with this, but hoping my tier system is set up compelling enough to encourage some premium upgrades. As a side note, I decided to make all live events free, because attendance was really low. I've been inviting (and paying) guest experts to come in and host workshops and last one, we only had 1 member show up live. I promise to record them so they're available on replay and I think that meant people were a bit lazy about attending live. Hopefully now that replays are only available for premium members, this will help not only with attendance at the live events, but encourage some upgrades. We shall see! First event is next week....
