It’s never too late to pursue your dreams!
I wanted to tell you a story that I hope will motivate anyone in this group who is having a tough time because by the looks of it we all have put alot of skin into the game and considering that the first course is regarding motivation and the mindset I thought it would be fitting. This is a story about my Dad who was an absolutely excellent father and raised me very well, he has worked in the hospital for my whole life and never had any other passions all he cared about was making sure I had a roof over my head, I lived with my Mum who was amazing aswell but I just wanted to tell you this story about my Dad. So when I was 14 - 15 I wanted to be a Dj and this resulted in me finding out he used to share the same passion but he had me and left his dreams behind so I encouraged him and said you know it’s never too late but he just wanted to live a simple life and work in his job, I ended up going in a different direction musically and it wasn’t djing so fast forward to a few years ago and my Dad was consistently Djing every single day got his own decks and stuff and I said you know you put in countless hours everyday why don’t you do this live instead and still he insisted no so thats fine and I didn’t want to pressure him but eventually he was putting up mixes on soundcloud 1 of which has 89k or something and then he started getting gigs and I’ve moved out now and have taken my own path but at the age of 43 he is now booked all the way up to November getting paid for weddings, parties etc and has around 5k on Tiktok but I am so damn proud of him and it just goes to show there is no age limit whatsoever to music and you can pursue your dreams no matter your story if you put the work in and make the time! NO EXCUSES!
