Foreclosed Property Opportunity – What Should My Next Steps Be?
Hey everyone, I could use some advice. I’m currently staying in a property that has gone through foreclosure, and I understand it has reverted back to the bank. I’ve been in contact with the bank’s attorney because I’m interested in purchasing the property before it is listed on the open market. I’ve already sent the attorney a direct message expressing my interest. For those who have experience purchasing REO or bank-owned properties, what would you recommend as my next steps? Any advice or insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

one thing worth flagging - if you're the former owner and still living there, some banks won't sell REO back to the original owner at all for compliance reasons, so ask the attorney straight up if that applies before you go further. if not, having proof of funds or a pre-approval letter ready before that first real conversation moves things way faster with asset managers
