One month done. Week 4 check-in is open.
One full month. That's not nothing — that's a real commitment. Take a second to appreciate that. Then go submit your Week 4 check-in. Submit here → https://www.nicothelefty.com/checkin/weekly Four weeks of check-ins = four weeks on the leaderboard and four weeks of weekly giveaway entries on top of that. A few setbacks the last week of April and beginning of May. I was laid off from my job and i gained 2 pounds. Im going to turn my frustration into motivation and finish even stronger. The plus side is that ill have more time to workout and play pickleball for at least a few weeks.
Winning at a Competition Social Event
We’re having a 4 day competition here in Lombok at the moment. Mainly younger players in the competition but I am playing in the Mixed Doubles Open on Sunday. Last night there was a social event at a coffee shop and I decided to go to welcome the players from other Indonesian islands who have travelled overnight by ferry to join the competition (despite my Indonesian not yet good enough to be conversational, I just battled along and the kind Indonesian people allow me to make all the grammar mistakes but they indulge me by trying to understand what I say! 😁) They had a lucky draw (what they call a “door prize” here) and I won a paddle!

Awesome looking paddle. Glad to hear pickleball players in other countries are welcoming also.
Trying to go Soda-Free
Something is slowing down my weight loss. I have used this diet in the past and it worked really well. This time it is not working so well and the only thing that has changed (besides my age and being post menopausal), is the additional amount of sugar free sodas that I am guzzling down in large quantities every day. So now I am making a promise to myself that I will reduce the number of sugar-free sodas that I drink to 1 x 330ml Coke Zero or Sprite Zero per day and no more than 1 x 330ml Soda Water per day. Other than that only water (or water with electrolytes when I am exercising). I know it’s not going to be easy - but I really want to lose this excess weight and I know I CAN!!!
