10 contributions to Night-Shift Mom Recharge Room
Grayscale your phone
😬Night-shift brains are already wired and tired — and our phones 📱 don’t help. Today I shared a tip from fellow nurse coach, Lynette, about using grayscale to make your phone less distracting. Check it out: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DST3lghjs1S/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== If you tried it today, what do you think would change? • falling asleep faster? • less scrolling? • nothing at all? All answers welcome! Let us know below if you tried it out and what going "Grayscale" did for you.

Fun!! So excited to see if there are a few more votes for the sleep mini series :D
💤 Sleep Check-In
Quick check-in, mama — no fixing, no advice (unless you ask!). How did sleep go for you most recently? (Last night, post-shift, or whenever you last tried to rest.) You can answer with: • a number (0–10) • one word • or a short sentence Example: “4/10 — brain wouldn’t shut off” or “Better than usual, finally!” I’ll share mine in the comments too.

Yesterday I slept during the day (post shift) and was wide awake for bedtime that evening 😑 After about an hour, I took a Benadryl and fell asleep 🥰 Not ideal but I do keep Benadryl or Unisom handy for those tough-to-sleep days/nights.

@Stasia Clark oh man that’s the worst! Too early to get up but so difficult to get back to sleep 😴 is there anything you do to help you get back to sleep?
Simplify exercise
🤕 After months of inflammation and achy joints, I finally felt well enough to strength train again — and I’m so excited! 😬 🏋🏻‍♀️ The only “problem”? Since leaving my local CrossFit gym last year, I haven’t joined anywhere new. And honestly… that’s okay, because driving has always been my biggest obstacle to working out. 🤸🏻 Luckily, CrossFit has a free app with a workout of the day plus modification options. That means I can grab whatever dumbbells I have, pull up a structured workout, and just start. (And if you’ve got an iPhone, Apple Fitness is a solid option too!) 👦🏼 Working out at home also makes it easy to include my son — he “helps me count,” copies my warm-up moves, and we take little dance/play breaks when I need a minute to catch my breath. For months, it’s been easy to default to “I’m too tired” or “I’m in too much pain.” But when I move, the energy and endorphins that hit me during and after a workout feel like nothing else 🤩 The biggest reminder for me wasn’t motivation — it was removing friction. I don’t need the perfect plan, the perfect gym, or a big time block. I just need something I can start right where I am: at home, with what I have, at the level my body can handle today. Because when exercise is simple, it becomes doable… and when it’s doable, it becomes consistent. ❤️

This is the free CrossFit app I use: https://apps.apple.com/app/id825019869 And this is my fav workout playlist (generally kid friendly): https://open.spotify.com/playlist/20zAi2SH5V2MZ3GR2YD1fq?si=RfSZjEc-TA2shyCa3OwG3g&pi=lAMzz3I5QwiQr
