Its been a while since i last posted. Here's a little backstory of my journey so far.. Shoutout to pivot2tech and the data analyst course for providing me with the skills and confidence. Firstly, my linkedin profile has grown immensely from under 100 connections to now hitting 200+. I get daily connections request and have noticed more views on my profile. I aim to build projects regularly, and as im doing so i also upload and post on my linkedin. Shoutout to the career mastery course for teaching me how to optimise my profile. Secondly, I thoroughly enjoyed the data analyst course it really helped me to delve into the crazy world of data analysis. As a beginner it was really great, and provided me with the basic skills and understanding. Pretty much was the stepping stone into my journey. What im trying to say is that there has been a massive shift in my understanding when it comes to data and data analysis. Ive been able to harness my skills further with the help of youtube tutorials as well but it no longer feels like you're a little kid in the big playground feeling lost. I am able to grasp the concepts of everything that is data related. I know i couldnt have learnt everything at the highest level, but we are making moves..Alhamdulillah. if youve been following my posts on here you'd know the very first dashboard i created was looking a bit peaky. So heres my latest one... The next step in my journey is to bag that first Data Role!!! Inshallah. Keep me in your duas in this blessed month. Also a huge shoutout to Pivot2Tech for everything and the opportunities @Shuayb A p.s theres a second part to this dashboard. I will post it sometime within this week.

MashaAllah, your work is looking sharp! I’d highly recommend sharing your journey on LinkedIn too, especially with weekly posts. It’s a great way to showcase your progress, build momentum, and attract more attention to your profile. That kind of visibility can speed up the process of landing the right role, inshaAllah.
Riyadh living/jobs/opportunities
Salaam all, recently I’ve been contemplating about relocating. Been hearing a lot about Riyadh as it’s up and coming. I was wondering what the IT industry is like over there? What’s it like for women in Tech there? If anyone could share their thoughts & opinions would be great.

@Mohammed al-Misri Haha there are loads of Somalis teaching in Riyadh I probably resemble someone you know from here. But at the moment I study Islamic Law here in Riyadh and freelance outside of studies. How about you, were you a teacher ?

Salam akhi, I used to live in Canada but now I'm currently studying and freelancing in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. If you have any questions about moving to Saudi Arabia, I don't mind answering them.
Struggling with laziness
I bought the 6 figure freelancing course around june of 2024. Till now, after 8 months of laziness and being in a loop of bad habits and bad decisions I have not yet benefitted from this course. Advise to myself as well as everyone here: we live a good life and comfort kills any ambition we have. So take care of what you must do to achieve what you want. Getting back in to learning this subject again and just gave myself 30 minutes of focused work. And want to say this 30 min was beneficial more than the last 8months. Action > analysis and wishful thinking.

Just two months into 2025, and success is already off the charts!
Asalamu Alaykum everyone. I just wanted to share my 2025 updates regarding my freelancing/entrepreneurship journey so far. After a challenging Q4, I reflected on my freelancing journey and the factors behind my lack of results. Was it my offer that needed to be refined? Was I just terrible at sales? Is the market saturated? I was managing to get my ideal clients on sales calls due to my relentless outbound client acquisition technique. But there was an issue... Every sales call seemed to end the same way: excitement, a vague promise to follow up, and then complete silence. I decided to have a chat with one of my mentors who runs a successful IT Tech company, and he left me with one profound advice where he said: " Make saying yes easy." And it suddenly clicked for me. Offer clear next steps. Instead of leaving the call open-ended, for example, say --> ā€œLet’s get started today. I’ll send over the agreement, and we can have everything in place by [date]. Sound good?ā€ The results? Halfway through Q1, and I've closed 4 clients from different countries (Bulgaria, Saudi Arabia, the UK, and Canada) and niches (SMMA, Website Optimization, E-commerce, and Email Copywriting), along with having a few more potential deals in the pipeline heading into the second half of Q2. What did I learn through all this? Don't be afraid or shy enough to talk about your struggles—one insight could change everything. How is your 2025 going so far? P.S. A few Pivot2Tech members recently visited Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and I had the opportunity to sit down and discuss all things business with them, one of them being Mr.Pivot2Tech himself. šŸ‘€ @Shuayb A & @Jamil Karabaev, It was nice to meet you both. Hopefully, I will see you guys again.
