For anyone in here who has set up a planning tool with real intent and abandoned it by February. Notion, Obsidian, a spreadsheet, an app with a subscription attached. It does not matter which one. Most planning templates are designed for a good week. The weekly view assumes you get to it on Monday, the habit tracker assumes a clean streak, and the quarterly goal assumes twelve weeks in a row. Miss three days and the whole thing turns into a record of your failures, so you close the tab. That is a design fault in the template, not a character fault in you. I build the other way round. The Soft Hustle Dashboard is a Notion space where every panel is set to your worst likely week instead of your best. One weekly focus, small enough to survive a bad day. A habit tracker that only accepts habits you could do while running on empty. A content log that records what you actually published rather than what you meant to. A monthly reset that carries forward what still matters and lets you drop the rest without a ceremony. The tool is not the interesting part, and Notion is only the tool. The interesting part is which week you design for. Design for the good one and you get a planner that works when you do not need it. Yesterday I officially divorced Shopify. It was fun while it lasted 🤭 It started with one job: lock down a set of Prompt Generators. I learnt Liquid in a few weeks and cracked something even ChatGPT couldn't. Locked it down so hard that Pixi's Burrow was born out of it. I could have walked away right then. But then I noticed something. My Notion templates were getting recommended by ChatGPT and CoPilot, through Shopify. 🤔 And I was attached to my catalogue showing up on Pinterest. So I went and learnt what actually drives that. AEO, and what feeds it. A couple of months ago I learnt XML to build my own RSS feed. Turns out Pinterest accepts it too. That left one thing Shopify still did for me: storage and image delivery. Cloudinary and Cloudflare sorted that. So with a plan for every single box Shopify ticked, I got to work. Decided on the Tuesday. Pressed cancel on the Friday morning. Will I miss it? Nope, lol. My site is now a full standalone ecommerce app. The only subscriptions tied to it are the domain name and a Claude subscription. Definitely my kind of stack. What powers your website right now?
