🇺🇸 English Expressions: To Each His Own ⚖️
Hey everyone! 👋 Today’s expression is “to each his own.” 👉 It means everyone has their own tastes, preferences, or opinions, and that’s okay. It’s a polite way to acknowledge differences without judgment. Origin: This phrase comes from Latin: “suum cuique”, meaning “to each his own.” It has been used in English since the 17th century to express tolerance and acceptance of differing tastes or choices. 🌍 Examples: • I love spicy food, but my sister hates it — to each his own. 🌶️ • Some people enjoy reality TV, others don’t. To each his own. 📺 • He prefers classical music while I’m all about rock — to each his own. 🎵 Figurative daily-life examples: • She collects action figures, I collect stamps — to each his own. 🖼️ • I can’t stand pineapple on pizza, but hey, to each his own. 🍕 • Some people run marathons, some binge-watch shows — to each his own. 🏃📺 Now it’s your turn! 💬 Drop your own sentence using “to each his own” below 👇 WE LEARN FROM EACH OTHER! 🤝

I enjoy durian so much, but someone doesn’t. To each his own. By the way, I wanna know if I could say to each "her" or "his" own?

When I got home
When I got home after work, I opened the front door, and an aroma hit my nose. My daughter had prepared this meal for me. I couldn’t believe it. On top of that, it was made with tofu noodles for our health.

LATER, I’m becoming a guru!
Hi buddies! I’m becoming a guru later today!🤗 Time flies! Looking back on the 1st day I joined our community, I realize how much I've improved over the past months and overcome a lot of fear of communicating with others! During the past months, I was eager to learn English by practicing kinds of assignments every day, joining kinds of live classes, making tons of mistakes every day, reviewing the posts and leaving comments/thumbs up every day, answering different questions for new members and encouraging others to learn together. The most important thing is I’ve made friends with some of you from each corner of the world. We’re from different countries, are of different ages, having different personalities, doing different jobs and having different opinions, etc. That is pretty cool! I’m happy, I’m energetic! (This sentence comes from the most recent PIRFsday class) Due to my limited English, I can't express my gratitude in any other way, just simple “Thank you!” Thank you all, my dear friends! Btw, I cannot tag your names one by one because there’re so many and I’m afraid I would miss someone!😆 Let's work together and learn from each other in the days to come!💪
