What did the hivemind think of the final chart? The #1 isn’t a surprise but I was surprised how little grunge there is in the top 30 (tbh totally fine with that). But very happy to see that “Groove is in the heart” got as high as 7. At first glance, I thought it was remarkable that Cranberries have 3 tracks in the top 30 but I don’t see U2 until 41! Any other thoughts?

I was at a show last night and the person next to me was singing along to every word of every song. While that in and of itself is not a crime (maybe a bit of moderation mighta been nice?), this person also couldn’t have found the right key with GPS. Is there anything at a concert that absolutely drives you nuts when someone near you does it?

Let’s share some playlists! I know we already do this in some form or another across this board, but thought it might be fun to kind of centralize it. Here’s what I’m thinking, based on a group I used to run IRL. Once every three months, I’ll set up a thread calling for mix submissions. It’ll stay open for a month, and anyone that wants to drop a mix is free to do so. My promise to you is that I will listen to every mix, just please keep the lengths sensible since the point here is sharing. That’s the crux of it. So let’s start here. Drop a playlist you’ve made in the comments… could be your latest mix, could be your favourite mix, could be a custom mix for this project. You do you. There are no rules, apart from being kind to one another, which seems a baseline for this place anyway. In future maybe we pick custom themes for these or implement some kinda structure but let’s start it easy. P.S. If any of you wanna make or send me actual mixtapes I’ll take ‘em. I've considered doing a Morning Show about this but I only have 3 hours. It would take me 3 months. So mine was 16 years old, Jane's Addiction with Mary's Danish opening at Eastern Washington University. I remember walking in to "Coming Down the Mountain" and seeing bodies flying in the air, everyone wearing black, just absolute MAYHEM and all I wanted to do was more of this! I stayed out the pit that day and just stood there in awe to be seeing and hearing the music from a band I loved. I was HOOKED. I think they played 30 minutes because Perry was a mess but I didn't know any better and in fact was shocked when I saw a band play longer! Also first show in Seattle? Pixies. Moore Theater.
