Sermons on Giving & Generosity
I preached my first sermon on giving this Sunday out of 3 John 5-9 Gospel Partnership through Generosity. I do not like preaching on giving. The Gospel section of PPGR made it worthwhile!

John commends Gaius for his past generosity/hospitality, especially to STRANGERS (who in the culture weren't just unknown, but usually had no land, no social honor, no legal right, no shelter, food etc). In addition, He's asking Christians who've been attacked by false prophets, leading beloved friends astray, they are being persecuted by Rome and many have forsaken everything for The Name. The Gospel comes in and says, "Jesus's generosity was on full display when he paid the debt that we owed and gave us the wealth He owned." (The Great Exchange). How did He do this? 1. Jesus became a stranger so that we might be welcomed into the Family of God. (ps 69, Matt 25:35-36, Isaiah 53) 2. Jesus became poor so that we might become eternally rich. (2 Cor 8:9, Phil 2 He emptied himself)
AI and Preaching
The AI webinar this morning was enlightening. We cannot fall into the trap of contracting out our pastoral duties to AI. If we do so, our flocks will suffer from a Spiritless diet of Bible teaching. Preach360 answers this problem well.

It was! In addition, it's Wednesday and I'm finished with Sunday's sermon (a first in 8 years of preaching.)
PRAYERS APPRECIATED
Friends I would appreciate your prayers right now. Our mother church is deciding to sell the building where we have currently been meeting at for the past 4 years. When we planted this church we were blessed with inheriting this property from a dying church. We are located in an ubran setting in the heart of Miami where many poor, broken, and marginalized people live, and our mother church and the council feels they are no longer able to cover our financial shortfall. They decided to relocate us to a different area in Miami as a replant with the proceeds of the sale being part of our fundraising campaign. Sunlight Miami is a thriving community of faith with influence in the community for the past 4 years but as a leadership team we understand the financial instability. But it's a tough situation to be in nonetheless. Pray that we can lead well and with love throughout this transition. That I can lead with discernment as many will lament and grieve the loss of many memories build and bridges built into this community. People coming to faith in Jesus, being liberated from addictions, and marriages being set free. I'm trusting Jesus out of a posture of rest and freedom that He will carry us through and that because of our union with Jesus and the resurrection of Jesus, the life of the Church does not depend on a place, but on a Person.

PPGR Wedding Sermon
I preached "Jesus the True and Better Husband" out of Ephesians 5:22-27 at my cousins wedding. Handful of people commented that they never heard the Gospel preached at a wedding. There were a lot of non believers there.

It felt Ike a breath of fresh air. I was excited, and preached it with confidence. It allowed me to look at Jesus in a new way.
Preach 360 System
Good morning, I am excited to announce that I will preach this Sunday with the Preach 360. This Wednesday's workshop helped me plan and be done by Thursday afternoon. Especially this week, first time back-to-back preaching on Sundays. - Principle: Faith is not anchored in a situation, but in a person that sustains us when we go through any circumstance. - Problem: When life feels out of control, our struggle is that we place our faith in our own ability to manage the storm rather than resting in Jesus, which only leads to fear and sinking. - Gospel: Jesus walked into the ultimate storm of sin and death on the cross, enduring the waves of God's wrath in our place, so that our faith can rest securely in His finished work of rescue and reconciliation. - Response: Because Jesus took our ultimate storm, the Holy Spirit frees us to stop relying on our own doing and instead fix our faith on the One who is sovereign over every situation. Matthew 14:22-33
