@Joanna Kasner Great timing to be asking this, Joanna, since your book is still in the works. What I found is that this one decision does not just improve results, it is usually the single biggest factor separating authors who build a real readership from those whose books quietly disappear after launch. It comes down to defining exactly who the book is for before writing wraps up, not just a genre, but a specific reader with specific problems or desires they need solved. Get that right now, and everything downstream, positioning, marketing, word of mouth, becomes dramatically easier. Get it wrong, and even a great book can struggle to find its audience. Since you are still writing, this is honestly the best possible time to get this locked in. Feel free to reach out, I would love to walk through it with you before you get further along.
