3 contributions to Beat Burnout - Reignite Life
Welcome to Reignite your Life! Start here 🚀
A few years ago, I was completely burnt out after 20+ years in tech—especially as a woman in the industry. I felt empty inside, with no passion or joy. Each day became just another item to check off my to-do list. The burnout crept up so gradually that I thought it was just normal! When I finally talked to a therapist, I realized it wasn't. Being a "fix it" person, I dove into research and experimented with different approaches to healing. Through a combination of self-reflection, writing, community, and mindfulness, I've transformed into someone far removed from that burned-out person I used to be. That's why I created this community—to share what I've learned and build a space where we can support each other. To start: - Please write an intro post. Let us know who you are and why you're here. 😍 - Take the welcome poll and tell me what you're interested in - Check out the Classroom tab for what's new Welcome!

I have had some big changes in my life last year, including leaving very toxic work place I had been in for over 20 years (in December) that burnt me out. I started meditation and speaking to a therapist and my life feels like it is starting again slowly, or starting in the direction that I am more intentional about. I am focusing on staying in the moment and just approaching things with a gratitude - it is a bit of a rollercoaster as I figure things out but I am feeling happier.
Some journaling prompts when things feel overwhelming
It's been a long month. In three weeks I've: - Lost my job - Started an unpredictable health diagnosis journey - Had my 22 year old ride or die cat be diagnosed with the beginning of the end But I'm in a remarkably calm mood. And I credit journaling. My journal has been ON FIRE lately. I've been burning up the pages. I find writing has been the biggest help in the last few years when things get hard, or confusing or I start to spin out. These are some prompts I've used lately. 1. What felt the hardest this week, and why? Walk through the specific moments that drained you. What emotions surfaced? What patterns do you notice? 2. What small wins did I have, even if they felt insignificant? Even in hard weeks, something went right. What did you handle well? What progress, however small, did you make? 3. What do I need to let go of before next week? Identify the stress, resentment, or expectations weighing you down. How can you shift your mindset or actions to move forward? 4. What support do I need right now? Whether it’s rest, boundaries, conversations, or self-compassion—what would genuinely help? How can you give yourself that? 5. If I could write a message to my future self, what would I say? Imagine yourself a month from now, past this struggle. What wisdom, reassurance, or motivation do you want to hear? These prompts helped me unpack everything, find perspective, and gave me a reset for what’s ahead.

Having started journaling each morning about a year ago I have found it really helps process my thoughts - really god prompts, I am going to use some myself.
Hello my 3 friends!!
Slowly but surely I want to gather more people here. But we're enough now! I started this group because a few years ago I, was so burned out I was dead inside. I literally felt like I was checking off days until I died. I wasn't going to hurt myself but I wasn't helping myself either. I started therapy again and realized that with some effort and community and thought work I could actually fix it. So I started to make myself think about it. Dig into myself. Recognize what was happening and I got better. And then I couldn't shut up about it. So to save my friends who've heard it all before, I want to share with you. I'll be adding posts and content more and more as I get rolling. See you soon!
