Music isn't just words and instruments built together until you get something that could go viral and have dances or completely flop. Music is a getaway. A vacation for the poor or the lazy or the sad. MUSIC. SAVES. LIVES. Some don't get it, some do. Most do. And the ones that do understand are ones who have suffered. Whether it was loss, poor or declining mental health, or whatever else that can fall under a label in a filing cabinet of someone who doesn't understand. Someone who calls those suffering "attention seekers" or "actors". Someone who will title that folder "crazy cases" or "nut jobs" or "lunatics". It's whatever name that helps them sleep at night. Music can help one get away from the nightmares that live even when one is awake and active. It can help one hide from the harsh truths the world forces you to take at a very young age. For girls, there's "beauty standard" and, of course, men that weren't raised right. For men, there's emotional vulnerability, the feeling that they always have to be strong because "men don't cry" or there's the fact that men are more likely to have mental health problems like anxiety or depression BECAUSE of them being "not allowed" to express themselves. Music, especially the songs about mental health that show it's okay to show these feeling rather than hide forever, instead of making fun of the problems they wont understand, is the favorite source to stay safe from the nightmares of the day. MUSIC. SAVES. LIVES.
